There's no question the Cards were in the best position in this draft to take a risk. That said I don't like this one. Did you notice in his interview how when asked I'd he'd distanced himself from problem people he said he learned how to spot problems he should avoid? That's an avoidance, not an answer. Dockett's problem was attitude and motivation. He was never surrounded by a detrimental posse. TM had huge advantages. He had a great and trusted friend playing with the Cards who took him under his wing. In college he lost untold ego points and glory he couldn't recapture when he was suspended. I find it especially ironic the Cards stressed how they'd added a character rating to their eval board. I wonder what Nkemdiche was rated in that column? By the way, I don't know anyone who had this guy rated highly any longer.

Okay talent wise he has great potential. He can be very disruptive. He's at a position where he should be able to join the rotation this year. He can rush the passer. He did show improved run defense this year. If they can keep him straight, he could be an outstanding player. I heard several teams took him off their board. The Cards took a risk, but they must have decided to take him if he fell to the way before the round started.

My concerned is that they've come to believe their legend and think they can mold anyone. They already have developmental players in abundance. If there had been no good options on the board I'd like this better. They could have added virtually a sure thing with Jones and they went all in. Let's hope they got it right.

That is about how I see it... then to see Vernon Butler go to Carolina and the announcers talking about,.. "non stop motor, plays sideline to sideline,...awesome movement for a guy that size"...

RK has superior talent.... but his biggest red flag is his brother and the influence he brings.... the same brother that was right there with him at the draft.

I think bask screwed the pooch on this pick..... guess we will know in a few years.

Love the pick. You can flat out make the case he has the most natural talent in this draft that gut doesn't usually fall to 29.

Its not like we spent the 3rd pick in the draft on him.

Here's a quote that gives me pause.
“People are worried about the brother.” “That’s the biggest fear. How do you say no to family? People so easily say it should be easy decision because there’s a lot of money at stake. Well, you don’t throw away 20 years of brotherhood.”

But can we please understand something, none of us interviewed him. Good or bad in our opinion of his character, we only know his actions and that is it and no information from talking to him what his current and future mindset might predicate. Only the NFL teams do. We have not sat him down and asked him the hard questions, Keim did... some might be right about him being beyond the risk level, but that is not because it was based on a in depth observation of his character unless you had a scouting staff and individual meetings with him in my opinion

Meh. If the Pats were at 29 and made this pick, we would say, "the rich get richer". I'm okay with it because we are a "rich" organization now!

It was a necessary risk. The topic least discussed was our lack of overall talent on the d-line past Campbell. After him, it's fairly average. RK has top-5 talent and can take a lot of pressure off of Campbell along with Jones.

At #29, you're either playing it same with a late 1st-2nd round graded player or taking a risk on someone who's slipping. AZ is getting elite talent at a heavily discounted rate.

I like the promise he brings but this is disturbing. It's either going to be a home run or a strike out.

I am hopefully optimistic and have my fingers crossed that BASK aren't so full of themselves that they believe they can fix anyone.

Top 5 talent at 29 is pretty darn good. Wouldn't that have been Myles Jack as well, his medicals must be scary bad.

I'm guessing there were no trade down offers because that would have been the best option.

Unnecessary, but not unjustifiable.

Cardinals are in win now mode. Diche gives them the best chance to draft a player late in round 1 who can make a big impact this year. They definitely could have chosen a safer pick that could possibly develop into an above average player in a few years. But this could be Larry and Carson's last year, and BASK is swinging for the fences to get them a ring,

Besides the falling 4 floors down and high, what other arrests/problems has he had?

I'm just thankful we didn't draft another OL.

Amare Stoudemire had family issues and it turned out well.

Jerry Colangelo took the chance and drafted him after meeting with him, I believe on at least two occasions. It's all about the person.

Shaggy , I'll ask around. I did get this so far,

Asked Thursday about his Ole Miss teammate, Tunsil offered a favorable review.

“A lot of people don’t know about Rob, man,” Tunsil said. “He’s a great guy, a humble guy. He had a little few off-the-field incidents, but you know, . . . you have little hiccups."

Sounds like everything didn't publicized. In small college town tons of stuff gets buried by the local PD. Understand those guys need the bucks from game security and the perks as well. Some even get to travel with the team. I can tell you that in Tallahassee more stuffs disappear than you could imagine. The same is true at Auburn.

Here's a couple more

Feb. 18 — Denzel and Robert Nkemdiche sued regarding alleged fight: Shortly after Nkemdiche and Bryant were arrested, both Nkemdiche brothers were sued regarding their participation in an alleged fight at an Ole Miss fraternity party that took place in Feb. 2013. Matthew Baird sued the brothers Nkemdiche for $2 million, claiming he was punched in the back of the head by Robert, who was a high school senior and Ole Miss commit at the time, and then kicked on the ground by Denzel and a handful of his Ole Miss teammates. The lawsuit never amounted to anything, but it did bring more negative attention to the Ole Miss program.

Oct. 13 — Photo leaked depicting Robert Nkemdiche lighting a bong: In the week leading up to Ole Miss’ showdown with border-rival Tennessee, a Volunteer fan leaked a photo taken via the popular app Snapchat depicting Robert Nkemdiche lighting a bong, typically used to smoke marijuana. In the blink of an eye the photo began circulating throughout the Internet, and although Nkemdiche was never punished for the photo (as the Tennessee fan would have liked in the days leading up to the game), it once again shined a negative light on the Ole Miss program in the midst of its best season in recent memory.

I was surprised he was taken, with the DW history here. However, the guy is a beast of epic proportion and actually loves the game.

His floor is pretty high, but short-term. His ceiling is HIGH AF. Just a ridiculous beast of a man.

IF we can gel this D unit in Carson's next two years we have a legit Lombardi here. And after that, I really don't gaf if Nkemdiche is in our ROH, only that he drills a hole through the QB in the Super Bowl a time or thrice.

Keim said they spent more time with him than any other player. I'm sure they know everything there is to know about him and were comfortable taking him. I'll go with that rather than people basing opinions on random articles on the internet.

My buddy called him a defensive Ricky Williams. Your
Mileage will vary on how good or bad that is.

That is my take too, Arians and Keim think they're a few pieces from a Super Bowl and they're taking some character risks first with Chandler Jones now with this kid.

If it pans out they're geniuses, if it doesn't they have to hope it doesn't haunt them. It is interesting with the whole D Wash thing but maybe they just think they have a better handle on this kid.

Talented player has a chance to be a star if he can stay out of trouble

I feel thew team just drafted DWASH #2. Drugs and domestic violence. You would think the team would learn.
