As noted in the other thread, NFL.com is reporting that Ravens and McKinnie have agreed to restructured deal. We can all go back to withering in despair again!

We need this goon in the worst way. I hate that, but its true.

Although im 98% sure he wants big time $$$.

FO needs to be smart about it. On one hand, we could take him and he could be good. Sign him longterm and move Levi to RT.

On the other hand, we will likely be picking up several T's in the 2013 draft, so we dont really need a longterm guy right now.

1 year. 6 mill.

*since we have semi-good relations with the Ravens, maybe we can do a trade (7th rounder) that way we dont gotta compete in the open market.
reports are hes already cut

According to his Twitter, and Schefter on ESPN, the negotiations are over and he has remained with the team.

Long term? He turns 33 later this month. He doesn't have much long term left in him.

4-5 years maybe. He could be like Ernie McMillan who played for the Cardinals for 14 years: he started with Sam Etcheverry and ended with Jim Hart and played for 5 different Head Coaches.

Im not an advocate for old folks or anything, but when the heck did 30s become 'too old'?

I hear that all the time. "Well he is 34, so you probably need to get younger talent ASAP", and so on.

Jeez you might as well mail it in and die once you hit 40 if your "old" in your 30's. Truth be told, I felt old when I hit 20, but that was because I missed being 15. But as far as physcial ability, if you stay in the gym, theres virtually no difference in ability between a 22 year old and a 32 year old. The difference being the 32 year old will have years of experience and knowledge, and the 22 year old will be tripping over his own feet.

We are talking professional football age. Most of have not had the equivalent of three car crashes per Sunday every Fall from our early twenties to our thirties. This is a brutal contact sport. Most professional football players in their forties move like a sixy year old or worse after they leave the game and leave their health on the field as well :)
