Dude I mainly watch SEC football, since I'm originally from the south, and I can tell you that the SEC has just as many big strong players as the Big 10, if not more.

The big difference is the speed plain and simple. The Big Ten just has plodding players, while the SEC has many very fast players. On most SEC rosters they have more speed in their WR corps than Big Ten teams have on their entire roster :D
That's one of the biggest myths going in college football. IF, the SEC has more speed, it's negligible at best. That not only goes for the Big 10 but also when you compare thme to the other major conferences. The SEC is good because they get the better football players, on whole.

There's no way in hell that Wisconsin, Iowa, Purdue, get the speed players of the SEC.

Wisconsin's DBs couldn't even cover TCU's "speedsters" :(

The difference is in the politics. The Big 10 schools are full of hippies (have you ever been to Madison Wisconsin?). The SEC Rednecks. Everyone knows Rednecks are better football players than hippies. Now if Frisbee Golf were the nation's #1 sport the Big 10 would be tops.

:D

Look at the combine results over the years. Purdue players typically put up as good as number as anyone.
Rod Woodson-Purdue
Kevin Kasper/Tim Dwight-Iowa
Ron Dayne-Wiscosnin :D.

I'd bet you if I took the names away and listed teams 40's you wouldn't be able to tell one team apart from the other.

I'm talking about the average players. The ones who are participating in the combine are the elite and it only makes sense that the elite players will have decent speed.
