John DeFillipo ....... I think this would be a young, exciting, energetic hire!

Only as HC. As OC he would be gone in a year or two.

Yes, JDF for HC. If he's OC, we don't want another Bowles type defection. And we don't want our QBOF to have to change OCs and systems.

Obviously there's more to it, but this guy has the ideal energy and charisma that I would look for in a HC.

So you are saying that if he is the coach, and we get our ares handed to us, he will freak out at the podium due to his energy and be on Youtube forever since it will be charismatic. Just kidding with you, but he simply has no experience for the job. Look, I see the attraction to him but to me he's simply not qualified. Bettcher honestly is more qualified than him in my opinion and Bettcher is not qualified. I would take Flores easily over him. Maybe one day DeFillipo will have enough experience and will make a great head coach but I do not want the Cardinals to be his first learning experience which he will build off of the next time he becomes a head coach and then succeeds. Great guy who at his age is lacking for the position of being a head coach by a lot

Don’t like the idea of jumping a guy from QB coach to head coach. He needs to put in his time as an OC first.

Think about it, he’s only been in charge of 3 guys tops up until this point.

I feel the same, thinking he needs to take the next step and become a offensive coordinator first... if he was hired for OC, I think I would happy with him

JDF has 11 years of NFL coaching experience. Bettcher has 6.

For me, it's not just the amount of years, it's the position held during that tenure. Right now, I only see his stay at dysfunctional Cleveland, being responsible for something on a larger scale as a pro which I can relate to being a head coach, Bettcher was a DC for three years. Hey, he might make a great head coach but that would be one heck of a jump for him. Sort of like taking a professor who specializes in one aspect of an era in history and then making him the chairperson of the department
