And the other high profile guy from that draft is struggling. Young was out Sunday with a knee injury and reportedly refused to go back in the game, had to be coerced by coaches to do so. Now they're saying he has a hamstring injury and didn't refuse to go in was simply hurt. Keith Bulluck made a comment about nobody on the DEFENSE is going to quit which was clearly aimed at Vince.

now there's a report that his family called the Titans yesterday concerned about Young's mental state said he left his house without his cellphone, seemed out of it. Family called the Titans who called police who eventually located Vince at a friends house. They are saying the whole thing was a misunderstanding and Young is fine but it sure sounds bizarre, the fact that the family called the team and the team called police tells you they were quite concerned.

Hope he doesn't go Dimetrius Underwood. I didn't want him when the draft came around, but I have always liked and respected the guy. He was a truly amazing college QB and one hell of a competitor. Hopefully this was all a big misunderstanding.

What the hell do they do to those Texas guys that makes them snap when they hit the NFL (Ricky Williams, anyone)?

I mean things don't just unravel for these guys, it seems like they take a trip into bizarro world and are never quite the same again.

I'm keeping a close eye on Lyle to make sure this "UT Craziness" isn't contagious.

1st.. I heard reports that Vince said he wanted to retire after Sundays game.. Dont know if that was sarcastic remarks from the announcers or what..

2nd.. It seems police didnt actually find Vince last nite, they just got a message to him so they could meet up..

Young left his home around 7 p.m. Monday without a phone, prompting the Titans to call Nashville police for help. The team got a message to Young through a friend, and the quarterback met with coach Jeff Fisher and police at team headquarters around 11:30 p.m. Police spokesman Don Aaron said Young drove himself home about 30 minutes later.

The story first was reported by WKRN-TV.

He shouldn't give a rats ass if the fans boo him. Give 'em the finger, Vince.

Pretty weird story Vince has never seemed like a guy with a confidence issue but it appears the injuries and the booing really got to him on Sunday.

Hope things work out for him.

Not good news on Vince. This has the makings of a real tragedy. Hope the team takes this seriously and gets some professional help for him.

Top 5 pick, rookie of the year, and 18-11 as a starter.

He is not your prototypical NFL QB but it's hard to argue with his W's.

What would you call Leinart?

I wouldnt give Vince credit for all those W's.. Maybe not even half of them..

Stats are misleading, and NONE are more misleading than a QBs w/l record. NONE. Most worthless stat in the judging of a quarterback, on a team that fields 21 other guys as well, not to mention the ST crew.

I agree that the QB Win/Loss record can be misleading, however, I'm not sure it's the biggest misleading stat for a QB. Remember, the QB touches the ball on every offensive play.
That said, the QB always gets WAY too much credit for the W's, and WAY too much criticism for the losses...

I'm not even saying it's the biggest misleading stat for a QB...I'm saying it's the biggest in football. Some QBs it absolutely has relevance (like Peyton) and others it really does not (like a Dilfer or a Rex Grossman). Even with Peyton, he doesn't win games by himself. It takes the defense to really show up, the WRs to be good, the RB and Oline to be solid, etc. The W/L goes on everyone, yet so many people just toss it on a QB and have no problem with that.

I contend that many of the wins the titans had last year were in spite of VY, not because of him.

It's the most important stat of all.

I dunno Donald. I think you're being a bit extreme... Like I said, the QB position gets far too much glory and far too much condemnation for wins and losses... More than any other professional sport, football is the ultimate team endeavor.
However, as I also said, no other position actually touches and controls the ball more than the QB. Doesn't mean he is soley responsible for Wins or Losses. We agree there. I'm just not so sure W/L record is the biggest misleading stat in all of football...
