many of the NFL experts that talked about young....to include former quarterbacks like roger staubach who was under fire early in his career for running too much....have gone on record to say that VY has a future in the NFL. but that it would probably take him a long time to develop into a winning QB. I'm not ready to write him off quite yet. I think he has potential and an upside. I think the biggest thing that was troublesome for vince was his game on sunday. he didn't play well, he suffered a scary injury, and was booed by his own fans. I think those things really bothered him as they would bother anyone. and in some ways those are uncharted waters for young. VY is taking a lot of heat and that might be what he needs. He needs a fire lit under his rear. He usually plays best under those circumstances. eventhough he's struggled at tenn....he's somewhat earned a pass because of the record. now fans expect more and he has to get stronger plain and simple.
WAAAAAAAAA I get paid millions of dollars to play a kids game and people boo me WAAAAAAAA when people can't afford insurance, heath their house, put food on the table. What a freaking baby. Is this the same brainiac that scored like a negative 40 on his Wonderlic test?

Seriously though what is it with U of T players lately, first Ricky Williams, then Cedric Benson and now VY? If I were Limas Sweed I would say I played at U of M or something. U of T seems like a freaking psych. ward.

Later in his career (Vikings) I might agree with you. Early in his career, he wasn't a good passer.
You're probably right, I don't remember much of his Eagles days since I didn't watch him much back then. I think everyone saw the highlight against the Giants where he got hit in the knees, miraculously didn't go down and then threw a strike down the field though. I was never a big fan but that play was all-time great. I was always critical of that long, slow windup that Cunningham had. Leftwich reminds me a lot of that.

well benson and williams had issues. williams was diagnosed with mental problems.....I think bi-polar disorder.....which is a serious mental disease. but aside from that both benson and williams have had a string of legal problems. to compare VY to the two isn't fair. but I can see how someone who doesn't look at all of the facts would easily do that.

I'm not saying we should cry for vince. I think we should hold him accountable for his play on the field. I try hard not to let my emotional bias get in the way of reality. but given that VY is from texas and is one of my favorite athletes of all-time....I'm going to feel sorry for the guy as a person. regardless of how much money he makes. I'd feel bad for anyone who feels like that...regardless of what the reason is.

I agree with Harley the guy guy is just to damn stupid to be a successfull QB. I dont get why the Titans thought he would. People dont grow brain matter in their twenties last I checked. You only have to listen to him say once sentence to figure out what a moron he is. Between the commercial of him explaining his rosebush tatoo and the interview about this saga where he says he "was just hurted a bit" how can anyone draw the conclusioin that there is any substantial brain activity in that head??

The NFL network one where he is explaining why he got his rose bush tatoo. I can almost repeat it verbatum (sp?) from it being played relentlessly during the offseason. The other part wasn't a commercial, it was from his first presser w/ the media since the whole "suicidal" thing.

I am not saying the guy is a bad man at all, infact he seems pretty decent. In retrospect I went overboard with the ridicule there, but the fact remains IMO he just isn't mentally cmpetent to be a successfull NFL QB. Hopefully for his sake I am wrong.

I agree, about Williams. It is a sad situation and I feel for him. As for VY not so much. He made this decision to play football professionally. It was his choice. He had to know what the consequences were if he didn't play well. He said as recently as this offseason that he wanted to retire after his rookie season. Obviously he has had some dout for a while. If that is the case hs should have hit the books a little harder and chose a different profession. All it looks like here is he wanted his guranteed millions, do as little as possible and bolt. Until he proves otherwise that is all I will see VY as. This guy will be out of the league by 2010 IMO. It's a shame, if you want to feel bad for anyone feel bad for the Titans fans and for the organization, not for this instant millionaire wannabequitter.
