Todays "USA Today" had the stats for various positions. Kurt Warner is rated #10 in passer rating in the NFL. He has thrown 16 interceptions. Tony Romo #4 has thrown 18. Peyton Manning #5 has thrown 14. Brett Favre has also thrown 15. There are 7 other QB's who have thrown 14 or more. The three lowest rated QB's have thrown 10, 3, 7 interceptions respectively.

Larry Fitzgerald is the 5th rated receiver. Boldin does not have enough games to be rated.

Arizona is the 11th rated on team offense and 20th rated on team defense. We have given up 26 passing TD's one of the worst in the NFL. Our rushing yds per game given up is more than respectable averaging only 99.5 which is 9th. Clearly we cannot pass defend.

Top three offensive teams is no surprise: New England, Dallas and the Colts. Top defensive teams: Pittsburgh, Tampa, and Colts.

A guy could look at all these stats and do a decent job of knowing just what you should draft.

that is the reason I'm excited, it seems the off season tasks are as apparent as one could hope for. Sign Dansby up long term, extend Fitz, hope for the best with the rest of the FAs and attack the draft knowing weakness. Lastly, Patrick and Pope have me smiling at the TE position because I think they will be for real next year.

It is a bit out of context but not particularly deceiving. Warner's at 3.6% INT rate. So is Romo. The "average" or #16 QB is at 3.3%(Trent Edwards). The really good QB's are mostly in the 2% range and the bad one's are in the 4%-5% range. Warner is in the bottom half at #23(out of 32).

It is a good comparison. Lomax was even more immobile. His sack rate was stratospheric. A bunch of that is on the o-line, naturally, but Warner's played behind some putrid o-lines and not been sacked as much.

I think Lomax is one of the most unjustly overlooked players in NFL history. (Witness my avatar choice.) Had he played for a better team and/or not had arthritis, he'd be remembered as a damn fine QB.
