I understand and stand by Whiz's decision. I wish Matt had stepped up and owned the spot, but it just didn't happen. He'll get his shot at some point thought as Warner's bound to get hurt (it's just his history). I just hope he makes the most of it when he gets a shot.

I think we should beat the Niners now, although like another poster said, I expect Warner to turn the ball over a couple times. Should be an interesting year.

Hard to argue with the decision. I would have preferred matt to start but I cant say this is a wrong choice.

It's Leinart's own fault for not being named the starter. If he would've stepped up and threw the ball all year like he did last night, he would've kept the job, hands down. Last night was the best i've seen him throw ball in 3 years. Whiz said he played with a chip on his shoulder. Maybe that's what he needed.

Maybe it was because the players he played against last night are no longer on Denver's team. He stunk it up against the 1st team D most of preseason. Kurt did not. Game over.

what would that have to do with putting zip on the ball?

Those players were scrubs. thus they run quite a bit slower on the field than the startes. Thus affecting the ball speed making it look WAY faster around the slower players.

:D

Stunk it up? He put up solid numbers against the Chiefs and Saints.

Kurt didn't go out there and blow people away. He didn't even throw a TD pass. This hyperbole is getting crazy....

If you can stand there all day throwing to someone wide open I could put zip on the ball. It is the NFL if he could not do it last night he never would.

His number against KC 1st team D was terrible. He almost had 3 Int that game.

Kurt did not get a TD in all 4 passes Bad Kurt he stinks. LOL

Psst Warner played against backups in 2 out of the 3 preseason games he played in.

Then you didn't watch the game. It's not like he sat back there all day and looked around. He took his drop and made his throw with authority. His problem has been sitting back there and waiting too long for a guy to get open. I know he wasn't playing against starters but that's now what i was looking at. If you couldn't see a diiference in his drops and mechanics then i don't know what to say. It was night and day.

Please don't EVER bring up "almost INTs" as a reason to favor Warner. If that we a stat, Warner would lead the league for his career.

Ok that's true you got me there that was DUMB.

What I did like is he looked for more than one person.

Ugh...I don't like this move though I can understand why it has been made. Tab Warner for 2 turnovers against the 49ers and hopefully we can overcome them.

Wasn't Matt's first pass in Game 1 last year picked off? We'd have won that game easily if Kurt had started.

Kurt gives us the best chance to win. Bring on S.F.! :koolaid:

Where are the people who were calling Wiz an idiot, just following managments orders, and calling managment idiots just a week ago. All that hand wringing for nothing.

Good gawd, y'all. We have a coach who told us and the players that the QB who performed the best would start and he stayed true to his words.

The same as at RG and Predator. That tells every player they have a legitimate shot to play if they perform. Evidence Ali Highsmith, who I thought was a sure PS player. But he performed and was rewarded.

With Leinart, Whisenhunt has expressed he believes Matt has upside. A smart man would take Whisenhunt at his word, consistent with evidence. If Leinart has what it takes, he'll work hard and be ready when called upon. We are probably going to need him at some time this year.

More than ever, I think 10-6 is within reach with more than 10 wins possible.

Whisenhunt gets it.

Second the emotion. We seem to have a coach who gets it.

Matt had us in a position to win the game (again) and our defense let Alex Smith drive for the winning touchdown in less than two minutes.
