Kudos to Kurt, and I hope ML takes it in stride and uses this as motivation, because I have a feeling we will need him to captain this ship to the playoffs at some point during this season.

Well said.

You know, most of us are CARDINALS fans. I hate seeing labels like "Warnerites" and "Leinart lovers", etc. Personally, I haven't cared about how this whole thing ended up. I fully expect 10 wins and the playoffs no matter who is playing QB when.

Thanks aj, I deleted it though, thought it might have been too strong and would hate to stir up anything on the best fan forum on the net.

More than ever, I think 10-6 is within reach with more than 10 wins possible.

Whisenhunt gets it.

Totally agree, Skkorp.

But I hate to think what will happen if we don't make the playoffs with Warner as the starter.

bigger. good for kurt, he's a great teammate, i think leinart will be the same as the backup. he has to learn and stay involved and wait for his next chance

That's why I could not respond to it. Why is it if you say don't like the way Matt plays your not a Cradinals fan. But the same is not true if you don't like the way Kurt plays?

Yeah the QB situation will get messy net season.

RM said it best last week when he said if the Cards named KW that starter that the Cards had better be prepared to make a deep run in the playoffs.

One week at a time though. It's Warner's ship for now and I hope for everyone's sake he corrected the issues that got him benched in '06 because this team does not need that.

If we don't make the playoffs this year, it will be bitterly disappointing regardless.

But, no matter where we wind up in the standings this year, I expect Whisenhunt and his staff to finish the job on Leinart and make him a good starter for this team.

AMEN!!!!! Thanks aj. C'mon guys. Get over it. The decision has been made. Let's all return to being Cards fans first and fans of certain players second. The Cards need good mojo and it's up to us to supply it.

BRING ON THE NINERS!!!

Issac, I am just going on your comments made in your posts. If I misread you, misjudged you or otherwise I apologize. Me personally I like all the players as long as they wear Cardinal red (yes even Branch :bang:).

I will not turn this into a KW v ML thing because to do so would be insulting to the team, players and all of us in here. They both have positives and negatives and we will most likely need both to make the playoffs this year.

Good gawd, y'all. We have a coach who told us and the players that the QB who performed the best would start and he stayed true to his words.

The same as at RG and Predator. That tells every player they have a legitimate shot to play if they perform. Evidence Ali Highsmith, who I thought was a sure PS player. But he performed and was rewarded.

With Leinart, Whisenhunt has expressed he believes Matt has upside. A smart man would take Whisenhunt at his word, consistent with evidence. If Leinart has what it takes, he'll work hard and be ready when called upon. We are probably going to need him at some time this year.

Great great post. We whine to much on here. Whiz has proven to be a man of his word, it's fairly obvious. I think this is great motivation for each and every player on the team now or in the future with Whiz as the coach.

This could even help if we go after free agents in the future. Players want to know they will be given a chance if they perform. Contrast Whiz with the Sun's coach D'Antoni who had trouble attracting free agents who started to feel they wouldn't have a legitimate chance to play.

Whisenhunt does get it.

So name all 53 players and like all 53 the same if not your not a true fan. Even you have your favorite player on the team we all do. As long as that player is not Kurt your still a true fan I'm sick of it.

PS I like Berry more than Laboy. Can I still come to the game?

I don't mind fans of certain players. Its when it goes from being a fan of a player to having blind homerism of a player that drives a lot of people here crazy (this includes myself).

There was quite a bit of logic missing with some of the arguments regarding that particular battle and when some people on here were bringing up cutting or trading Leinart, it crossed the line with a lot of people.

Warner has his strengths and his flaws, same with Leinart. There were arguments for and against them both. Don't ignore that fact (I'm not speaking specifically to you Isaac on this one, this is to people on here in general).

That is not what I said. I apologized there is no reason to be so insolent in your reply. You can either accept the apology like an adult, or seek confrontation. Apparently you chose the later. In any event congratulations, after almost two years of posting here you are the first person to make it to my ignore list.

Kurt has flaws? Your not talking about his 10,000 fumbles are you. LOL

Don't bring those up around monklerman when he gets back from his banning or else he'll bring up Warner's magic gloves. LOL

I have said it 100 times if not for the fumbles he would go in the H.O.F. he still might if he can do some thing this year. For the love of god put two hands on the ball.

PS If the gloves fit you must acquit.

Wow. I'm surprised. Not shocked though.

Let me just say right now that I will be calling for a quick hook for Warner if he starts turning it over and we're losing games 27-24.

I was in the Leinart corner, but I will stick to my word and support Whiz's decision.

Me too Crimson. I like Warner, but hate his turnovers, especially the fumbling. Both QB's need to be on short leashes.

How many women are gonna want to hot tub, with only a backup QB? :D

I'm cool with the Warner decision. Matt did well the last game, but if the coaches feel like he's not ready and could benefit from sitting on the sidelines, then so be it. I don't think Matt should take this as a slight and I hope he doesn't.

If Kurt starts and does well, super. If he does poorly, then Matt can come in and save us. Better than having Matt go out, do poorly and get yanked.

I really believe the competition was very close and in the end it came down to experience. Thats the 1 thing Kurt had going for him, the ability to recognize defenses and adjust to them.
JMHO.

Whiz has really put an emphasis on this team winning more road games. That is why he's going with the more experienced Warner in the opener. Leinart's worst games tend to be on the road, which is understandable for a young QB. Warner definitely gives us a better chance to win against the Niners on the road. That being said, I still see Leinart as our starter by midseason.
