I'm happy to see it's only a one year deal. If he's as done as I used to think, we can shrug that off eventually. I'm happy to see him here though. I think if he was going to ressurect his career, it would have to be either here, or in Detroit.

However, with only a one year deal, I'm wondering what kind of impact he'll have on our salary cap. I'd imagine we paid him pretty well.

Let us hope at the end of the next season we wish we had signed him for 4 years. These short deal cut both ways.

I hope that Green did not promise him the starting job.

JMO, he's the best available (of the three remaining). I do not understand why he'd only take a one year deal. But, it's a good sign that he wants to be here and show that he's still got skills. If he does, he'll undoubtedly be resigned.

He takes it because he is confident in his abilities. Normar Garcipara just signed a one year deal with the Cubs for 8 mil. You can bet he plans on making a lot more next year. If Warner has a good year then our one year deal is not so good and will cost us more in the long run. If he plays poor then it was a good deal. So what do you hope for?

I think he will automatically be handed the job because he is a VASTLY superior QB to Josh, as in - he can actually play the position. 60-40 right now? Keep 'em coming Clif - you're killing me tonight.

Warner wears a super bowl ring and has been there and done that. Josh is still very much a work in progress who may or may not stick in the NFL. You can say there will be competition in training camp but you cannot produce real NFL game conditions in training camp so unless some guy absolutely is great or sucks the Coach is going to start the guy he thinks will win. You got to know Coach Green think Warner is that man.
