That play was a back snapper.
I credit the entire team including Warner in making a game of it, nothing but heart.
What I want more than anything is a coaching staff that dosen't just bow down to Kurt but one that knocks him in the head for crap like that and one that simply says I don't care what you have to say about that play Kurt you don't throw a pick there ever again, not in that situation, that was not your normal play.
Your defense got you down there, you were just there to collect as many points as possible, nothing more it was a gift and you looked it in the mouth, don't do that again.
That might get us a trophy someday.
For me? I can't see Walsh doing that to Montana when he threw his bone headed picks in the playoffs as well. Football is an imperfect game. Players make mistakes, even the great ones. Coaches realize that much more than couch potato fans. The great qb's throughout history aren't the ones that didn't make mistakes, but rather the ones that overcame them as Warner did last night. Remember, Big Ben wasn't perfect last night either. He overcame his mistakes as well.
I think it's a shame when folks such as yourself
seem to focus so much on one mistake rather than on the positives which were about 40 times more on display. Life is totally uncertain. There are no guarantees that if Warner doesn't throw that pick, & instead, throws it out of the end-zone, that we win. None. To claim otherwise is sheer ignorance. I would prefer to focus on all those throws & reads he made w/ the defender right in his grill that were right on the money, & throws that very few, if any make in this league. The throws that almost brought us SB immortality.
Can you imagine if everyone just focused on Montana's 3 picks in the NFC championship, rather than the throw to Clark. I wonder if you would have been calling for the coaches to "knock him in the head for that crap". Not sure I even want to know the answer, but good thing for Niner fans, the Niner's had a coach who knew better.
It would seem that either you have an agenda against the man, or you're just a "glass half empty" kind of a guy. Half full is a much happier place to be IMO.
