Kurt is kind of old school. Remember the good old days when you didn't want to come across as biased in favor of your old team? I wouldn't be surprised if he goes out of his way to be as neutral as possible when talking about the Rams and the Cards. OTOH, maybe he hates us.

I heard the whole interview---and Warner said quite explicitly that it took a great deal of bartering on his part to get the coaches to cater the offense to his strengths.

Today, Warner expounded on that statement by stating that Whisenhunt is "rare" when it comes to compromising with the QB in order to win. Warner said that the more you ask of Whisenhunt---if it works---he gives you more latitude.

As for Warner's take on the Jets---it's a moot point. The Jets are up against the cap---yes last year they had PM's OC Tom Moore as an offensive consultant---but, if Moore tells PM about the climate within the organization, it would be a shocker if PM even remotely considers going to the Jets. Plus, as of yet, the Jets have not re-hired Moore.

PM would have absolute autonomy with the Jets---BUT---that's a condition that any team he's interested in would have to agree to. If Warner is correct about Whisenhunt---Whisenhunt would give it for PM.

I'm starting to feel the same way. To me though, every time Warner suggests someplace else for Manning to go, I get a sense of jealousy/worry. If Peyton comes here and we actually win a SuperBowl, everyone will forget about the "2nd best QB to wear a Cardinal uniform, Kurt Warner".

Fitz is a lot of reason for PM to come to the desert, but not enough. He needs $20 million a year, and a new offense that is not designed to kill the QB!

I posted the last Indy/Card game we had 10 rushes to their 27- Stupidest football gameplan ever by the Cards, humiliating coaching efffort.

I never saw what the big deal was that year. We took a lot of abuse from the ESPN gang but what should we have done? Where is it written that the best way to run a club is to just bend over and give out whatever the agent asks for?

This. Warner has always come off as somewhat of a prick to me anyway. The guy was a great football player and I respect him for it, but who cares what he thinks?

He's pigheaded and grudgingly gives in only if you prove that what you want to do works beyond a shadow of a doubt. It also indicates that Whiz does not necessarily plays to a player's strengths.

With every other QB they do not have the experience Warner had and the success Warner had so they do not have a leg to stand on and challenge Whiz and in all probability Whiz would just send them to the doghouse if they did challenge him.

Obviously the National Sports Media. The Cardinals have long been ignored by that group. We now have a celebrity figure that they associate with the Cardinals and winning. Something the team hasn't had in a long time.

To me it is a good situation as I dislike the Cards being ignored all the time. I like seeing their highlights and reading articles about them. But I'm sure others could care less.

Warner's opinion of Ken Whisenhunt is probably what matters most to Manning. I haven't heard him make any negative comments publicly about Whis. That as a veteran QB he was able to work with Whis and be successfull should be the important factoid to Peyton.

Whis has a track record of success with very good quarterbacks in the NFL: see Ben Rothlisberger and Kurt Warner. That should be one of the Cardinals principle selling points IMO.

Im really starting to question Kurts QB evaluation skills.. He has said every QB that has been linked to the Cards wont work besides Marc Bulger.. Marc Bulger, the guy who doesnt wanna play as a starter and just collect backup checks.. Thats the guy he thought was a great fit..

I started thinking yesterday.. If Peyton did come to AZ and was healthy.. And Peyton won a Super Bowl.. Kurt would no longer be the Cards hero around town.. Im am seriously starting to wonder if this is behind all his "QB evaluation" for the Cards since he left..
