Could've had both. Now do Jonathan Ledbetter.

You want to pay a guy $15M for the same production as a guy making $1M?

The point is that was a smart GM decision.

But since you asked for it...

Ledbetter - 33 tackles and 1.5 sacks for $870K

Zach Allen 38 tackles and 3 sacks for $15M

How many snaps tho?

I get the production of both guys, because I'm playing 2-3 IDL at once. It makes sense to evaluate the resources dedicated to the whole room.

Also, I don't know where you're getting $15 million from. He has a $6 million cap number in 2023. Probably worth observing that the Broncos are allowing an average of 16.75 ppg over their last four.

How are we feeling about this prediction?

I still think 3 wins is probable but if the Cardinals can stay healthy 5 would be possible.

The Cardinals really need Conner to stay healthy. Without him at RB the offense doesn't look the same. Also I'm concerned about the the health of the Cardinals OL. It's starting to get a little dinged up.

I still have concerns with Depth all across the defensive side of the ball.

I initially thought the Texans would be one of the best chances for the Cardinals to get a win this season. However that team is playing 100 times better than I expected. The Rams, Bears and Steelers look to be the best shot of sneaking out a couple more wins. So yeah I would say 3-5 wins this season still looks possible. So the average of that would put me right at 4 wins. So I guess I would upgrade my win total for the Cardinals to 4 wins this season.

Is there a reason you left out that Allen also has 6 TFL, 1 FF and 13 QB hits v. Ledbetter’s 1 TFL, 0 FF and 2 QB hits?

Those guys aren’t even CLOSE to the same level of production.

Nope - just lazy.

And - that wasn't my original point. K9 requested Ledbetter.

My point was Stills vs Allen. No argument there?

His point is why not both? Which we could ABSOLUTELY afford. And I agree. Allen is very good, home grown player and would have helped the D-line from being amongst the worst in the league and a good building block for the future.

The point is Allen's production is replaceable at $1M vs $15M.

Why would you pay that for same production? I don't want both.

Allen is easily replaceable. Facts (with a 6th rounder).

Also, it sounds like Allen didn't want to be here.

You do realize that Denver's DVOA is 26 and we are 30. They have been really bad as well.

Hey hey hey. Denver's 32nd in DVOA, and we're 31st.

They're also MUCH worse than us. We're closer to the 27th-ranked Chargers than we are to Denver.

I'm not a subscriber, so I can't see their deeper breakdown in Defensive DVOA, but I wonder if they're rolling number is better. That defense stunk in the first month of the season, but the last four games they've allowed fewer than 22 points.

Atlanta scores 18.9 ppg -- we allowed 23
Cleveland scores 23.8 ppg -- we allowed 27
Baltimore scores 27.0 ppg -- we allowed 31
Seattle scores 22.2 ppg -- we allowed 20

According to Burns and Gambo, the Cards had three of the top ten rookies based on last weeks performances. That didn't even include, Paris Johnson, who we know will be good. This will probably be the best rookie class the Cards have drafted in a while. Kinda makes you want to see what the next draft will be like.

Man I have been one of Allen's biggest supporters, but to describe him as "very good" is a bit nutty.

He's paid to be very good, but he is merely a pretty good player, not nearly elite enough.

And its been discussed ad naseum how the Cardinals saved money just in case they had to move Murray. Signing Allen just to cut him next year is silly.
