He's clearly the best back in the league this season.

Barely. He's only 12 yards ahead of Adrian Peterson and 39 yards ahead of Alfred Morris. One big game from either of them could change that easily. McCoy's first 4 years in the league wasn't worth raving about either. So calling him 'the new Barry Sanders' is pretty steep IMO.

Who is calling him that? 1 or 2 fans? Yeah, that constitutes the body of Eagle fans. Also, no one on the Philly sports radio stations refers him to that and I've personally never heard anyone refer to McCoy as the next Barry Sanders.

Cards essentially ended the Falcons and Texans seasons. Those two teams basically needed a win to have any hope of jump-starting a playoff push when they played us and they failed.

I see the Eagles in a similar situation. With Dallas winning yesterday, they know they have to win to keep pace. If they lose, not only do they fall behind in the NFCE race with 3/4 of the season over, but they fall behind the Cards (with a tie-breaker) in the WC race. And they still have to play the Lions, Bears, and Cowboys. None an easy stretch for them at all!

I imagine they'll play like a desperate team. We'll get their best shot. It'll be a slugfest and I am not feeling great about this game. East coast, early, desperate opponent, and the refs will probably favor the home team too. Just saying, there's probably more money to be made in a Week 17 showdown between the Eagles and Cowboys (winner take all) than there is in a similar match-up between SF and AZ. So get ready for a David Stern-like game!

Like I said in the original post, that was what they were saying in Eagle forums that I have come across. Why are you so defensive over this? :mulli:

Todd Bowles for one.

Updated forecast:

Partly cloudy, high of 46. 0% chance of rain. 7 mph winds.

Thanks crisper , that's not bad football temp . I was PO'd that they didn't flex the game to Sunday Night , which would have dropped that temperature by a large margin , so I guess I will be happy with the day game .

I'm just saying it's a non-issue. Who cares what they think of their player?

Kickoff at 46 degrees (42 wind chill). 0% chance of rain after noon, Philly time.

Close enough now that we can reasonably expect perfect football weather!

I'm still not worried.

You should be. I've learned the hard way what happens when you underestimate the Eagles. We should be wary but not intimidated. We are pretty equal. They have a good offense, we have a good defense. As long as we keep the mistakes to a minimum we'll be fine.

We have a good offense and they have a bad defense. :D

I hear what you are saying...any given Sunday and all that but I have faith that this team will take care of business.

Oh, believe me if we lose I will be somewhat surprised because not one of the Eagles wins have come against a team with a winning record while we've beaten Carolina, Detroit, and Indy meaning we can hang with the big boys...outside of our division of course.

Oh My Gawd! I just realized that to the iggles, WE would be their 'signature win'
