Cards essentially ended the Falcons and Texans seasons. Those two teams basically needed a win to have any hope of jump-starting a playoff push when they played us and they failed.
I see the Eagles in a similar situation. With Dallas winning yesterday, they know they have to win to keep pace. If they lose, not only do they fall behind in the NFCE race with 3/4 of the season over, but they fall behind the Cards (with a tie-breaker) in the WC race. And they still have to play the Lions, Bears, and Cowboys. None an easy stretch for them at all!
I imagine they'll play like a desperate team. We'll get their best shot. It'll be a slugfest and I am not feeling great about this game. East coast, early, desperate opponent, and the refs will probably favor the home team too. Just saying, there's probably more money to be made in a Week 17 showdown between the Eagles and Cowboys (winner take all) than there is in a similar match-up between SF and AZ. So get ready for a David Stern-like game!
