We were fortunate, but the biggest play wasn't luck, that was incredible hustle by Steve Breaston to knock that ball out.
No. Actually, we overcame a lot of crap we put ourselves in. Luck had NOTHING to do with that win. If you want to play luck, we were unlucky. Fumbles on opening drive, on the 5 yard line down 3, after an INT that should have been overturned.
We were in the backfield ALL day, hitting Bradford over and over again, and he threw until his arm fell off.
The only LUCKY thing we had going for us was that we were facing the Rams with a rookie QB instead of a Manning and the Colts or something, and that's simply the luck of the draw.
Whoever won that game was going to be rather lucky. That was exhausting.

Yes.
Lucky as H-E-double hockey sticks.
I will say this.
As hard as the offense tried to give this game away, the defense prevented it from happening.
Except for one "wish and a prayer" bomb on Toler, the Rams didn't really do too much.

BTW, the greatest play of the game, Breaston's, was NOT lucky.

As nice as that sounds...... there is a LOT of luck that goes into every game.

Perhaps, but only if we accept the premise that luck is when opportunity meets preparation.
You make your own luck, especially in the NFL.
Definition of Luck said:Luck or fortuity is good or bad fortune in life caused by accident or chance, and attributed by some to reasons of faith or superstition, which happens beyond a person's control
Pretty typical for an opener really. Both teams fought their guts out. The Rams will be respectable this year. I think we'll look back and be really glad we got them in St. Louis now instead of December.
