Yeah I think the organization isolated the root cause(s) of mistakes made in drafts past and took the proper corrective action.
Awesome draft!
I think we took some need with some of the extra picks we sprinkled in, but stayed BPA pretty much with our picks. Cooper, Minter, Honey, and Okafor was a killer start.
Love how Keim was able to move around and stock up on extra picks.

I agree, nice draft, good values in areas of need. It's a tribute to this board how close many of the picks were called as the draft went on.

I can't complain. We have lots of oline talent now and we added some solid defensive help. I like both late round running backs. A speed receiver is something we seem to never have.

As a fan, I'm very happy. However, in retrospect, I think our Draft will be measured in terms of comparing Minter to Te'o. Both play the same position and we had our choice of both players. How they play as rookies will go a long way in determining our final grade. But like I said as a fan, I'm happy.
AND still get the player they were going to draft anyway at the higher slot.

You have to factor in the 2 extra picks we got as well Watford and Ellington. Had we stayed put and drafted Te'o than we likely wouldn't have gotten those other 2 players.

I'll always compare Minter to Arthur Brown, who the Superbowl Champion Ravens thought was good enough to replace Ray. JMO, Brown is the best of the three. We'll see.

Round 1: having screwed the last #7 pick by taking a tackle they decide to change things up and take a Guard!
2nd round: A linebacker named Kevin. WTH!
3rd round: A mini-Badger?!?! Who hasn't played football in a year. They must have seen him bagging groceries or something.
4th round: Drafted Sam Acho AGAIN!!!
4th round B: A Guard from James Madison?!? Didn't they learn from drafting Double Dunce from one of those type schools. They don't even have an athletics tab on their home page!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
5th round: A guy who went to Stanford but can't even spell Stephen?
6th round: An Aggie? I guess it's been long enough they forgot about Leland McElroy.
6th Round B: Ellington? Are they putting together a football team or a Jazz Band?
7th Round: The only great pick. A combination TE/QB with a name that salutes our great American History and Federal Government. Can't believe the idiots waited that long to take him.

the FO accomplished a LOT in this draft. We addressed many needs, picked up solid talent well later than I figured they would go, even our last pick of that big fella TE was a great find. Matthieu is a risk, but a well calculated one I'm sure. I have a feeling that the FO conversed with Peterson extensively before pulling the trigger on him. They must feel confident in both Matthieu's ability to bounce back, and Peterson's ability to put him on the right track and keep him there. I am a bit disappointed about not drafting a Safety, but Matthieu is an addition that I believe will make up for it. Between him and PP, it's a risky choice to throw on us

I thought the first tree picks were pretty good, but rounds 4-7 was the best I have ever seen. Can't believe the value we got in those rounds. Okafor in the 4th was a steal. Ryan Swope was a great pick in the sixth round. Andre Ellington I had ranked as the second best RB in this draft. Stepfan Taylor was also a solid pick. The guys I worry about in this draft is Kevin Minter and Tyrann Mathieu. I thought this was a very good draft.

We went back to the riskiest move ever made and forgot all about the mistakes of yesteryear. must be the Pottsville curse. Denny drafted a SB team- Whiz destroyed it - Keim and BA look exactly like rookie HC and GM.
Yea Keims take on Character - doesn't apply- even to himself! The Honey Badger doesn't even have to relapse to prove that- it is in the books. Seasoned GM's are cringing openly.

Also Manti would have been a horrible pick. Look at the circus already in San Diego around this guy. He has proven that this whole event has rattled him and failed to show up twice when it mattered most.
I trust BA and SK's assessments on players over someone who still thinks Matt Leinart is an elite QB.

For what it's worth CBSSportsline gave Cards A+ on these two late picks:
Cardinals: Ryan Swope, WR, Texas A&M Swope is an extremely savvy and productive route runner who opened a lot of eyes with his blazing 40 time at the combine. Something of an inexplicable faller in this draft, Swope is a great get for the Cards in the sixth round. Some Wayne Chrebet/Keyshawn Johnson drama could be in the works when he outproduces last year's first rounder Michael Floyd.
Cardinals: Andre Ellington, RB, Clemson Undersized but tremendously explosive and productive, Ellington improves on the departed LaRod Stephens-Howling's skill set and may be the most talented back in Arizona from the first day of mini-camp.
