Is there any way to close this thread. Hadn't noted that someone had already broken the news?

I cant find anything about him on a couple of Texans message boards. I hope Green & Co. know what they are doing.

This is from azcardinals.com

In the past four seasons with the Texans the Montgomery, Alabama native has appeared in 18 games, starting in 16 of those games.

“I think Milford has some experience in the league and he is a big strong and athletic player,” stated Coach Green. “We think he would be ideal for us as we try to develop our line.

I'm not excited about a 6th round pick that's played in 18 games in 4 years on the worst team in football.

At the worst he is an upgrade over Haayer or Wakefield. At best he starts.

Good signing...he was a good player on a terrible line. I doubt we overpaid for him, but at worst he'll contribute. At best, he'll be a solid starter who can pave the way for the running game.

Good signing. He is aggressive and a good drive blocker.

I have no clue what the have seen but apparently Green and Graves really wanted the guy. I'll applaud them for that but I'll wait until I see what he can do on the field before judging this signing.

The Cards really love Florida State guys.

I do not have a clue about the abilities of this guy. The only thing I know is he played for Houston who had their QB sacked more times than any other team in the NFL.I Just hope every one else on that line was lousy and he was not. We have made two signings neither of which seem earth shaking. I am waiting for something to really get excited about.

One man's trash may be another man's treasure.

Who knows....maybe Loney called this one?? I for one would love it if we finally had a OLine coach with enough skills to actually scout the type of players he wants...then have the FO go out and get it.

He is solid and will probably be a starter. Remember they saw him play against us and have plenty of film on him. His good size and I'm sure came in at a decent price.
This is not a good free agency for OL and getting some starters with experience is what we need.

Houston was an above avg run blocking team last year, horrible in pass blocking. Warner proved last year that he can complete plenty of balls while under extreme pressure so I'm not too worried about that. Brown will provide much better run blocking which will hopefully sway Edge to sign with us. I still think we should go after Hutchinson as well or at least make Seattle match our offer. They just spent a lot on Alexander and may not want to spend a lot on Hutch. Overall, a good signing but we need another OL via FA and def need THE EDGE! Get er done

We're staying away from Hutch but Minnesota is trying to sign him. I'd rather we not go after him because that will be a week of FAs we won't be able to get simply because we didn't know if the Seahawks would match the offer

I really like this signing, he will probably start and was the Texans best O-Lineman.

Hutch got the Transisition Tag which is something like $8.1M. I think that's way too high for a guard and I don't think it's worth the Cards time to drive up his price. If MIN drives up the price or even takes him away, all the better, but that's just too much money.

Right now, what is the OL plan?

Big, Wells, Step/Leckey, Brown/Brown?, Ross

It would be nice to have Ross as the backup, so maybe bring in Runyan if he'll do a two or 3 year contract. I just don't want to start the year with the same OLmen as last year. I don't want to repeat 2005 again.

Brown is a physically gifted man with the head of an 8 year-old. He got booted from Florida State. You practically have to kill someone to get in trouble under Bobby B.

If anyone can get through to this elephant, he will be a good guard. His career in Houston was, to say the least, very undistinguished.

Last year the Sporting News rated him 83rd out of 116 tackles. Of course, it might have been another Milford Brown.

Seriously, I just don't get it. He was a marginal college player, has showed little in Houston and seems unlikely to press the starters. If it's just quantity they wanted, that's what they got.

He entered the Supplemental Draft and got picked basically on sheer potential related to his size.

Brown is one of those guys whose measurements don't do justice to his size. He's massive, and wide as a barn door.

The thing is, he just doesn't get it upstairs. The Texans were flat awful but Brown only played in something like 18 total games in 3 seasons there. He was inactive more often than not. He also only played 1 year at Florida State.

So basically the Cards signed him on the same "merits" as FL State and the Texans. He's a man-child who has played exactly 18 NFL games and 10 NCAA games. Not exactly a lot of tape to watch on this guy. Who knows what he'll be in the desert, but if last season was any indication we should keep our expectations minimal.

So now he have three massive, talented guys, that need to get their heads screwed on right. BIG, Elton and Brown should be getting heavy tutoring from Loney.

Superior coaching beats superior talent. Let's hope Loney is as good as advertised.

Hey, Dockett was considered a head case. So was McCoy to a degree, right? Maybe the valley is a therapeutic place for head cases....

03/11 22:26 Cardinals: Cards add Brown to o-line
THE NEWS
The Cardinals signed free agent guard Milford Brown to a four-year contract Saturday. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Our View
Brown started 12 games for the Texans last year and 16 in four seasons since joining the team via the 2002 supplemental draft. If you're an offensive lineman and you get let go by the Texans, who have consistently fielded one of the worst front lines in the league… well, where else would you logically end up but Arizona?
