did any of you guys watch any of the cardinals game? Mcfadden was AWFUL

I don't think anyone was calling him much more than a backup.

Problem is that we no longer have any depth at the position. To top it off the draft is almost over. God help us if DRC goes down this year.

We're all more than aware McFadden was'nt what we all thought he would be as a starter for us but he was better than Toler was at the time.I pray Toler has stepped in a time machine and can start from game one with full confidence.Just have'nt seen it in ONE game yet.

Hoped a vet would acclimate to our first year defensive coordinator and improve ,but I think it was more of a money thing this time and we now don't have depth at the nickel as we did'nt have at times last year also many times and it killed us.

after considering this trade for the past hour, I AM MORE PISSED!? Its not like McFadden was terrible and trading him for this AND a Draft pick is called getting fleeced and now our thin depth at the position is horrendous... FCOL!

I understand the frustration, but................

1. McFadden WAS terrible.
2. The Cardinals (Whiz included), obviously believe they can replace McFadden. I'll trust Whiz, because he would have to agree to this & he has PROVEN that he is trustworthy. I'm not pushing the panic button.........................................................................................................yet!

just too add a little more to the trade, watch Pittsburgh take the CB we have targeted with our original 6th.

Let's also take into account that the Cardinals obviously wanted Skelton. Maybe badly. Part of me really believes that Whiz just doesn't have complete trust in Leinart. He'll give him his rightful shot, but Whiz did not have a say in Leinart being drafted. He's really not Whiz's kind of guy. We all want Leinart to be "the guy", but this trade & subsequent draft choice is more of an indictment of Leinart than anything else.

Even if Leinart had started and played well from day 1, they would still need a 3rd QB.

Skelton could also be a MAJOR pickup if you've seen the sports science video on his intangibles. They are better than Peyton Mannings in the tests they did. Many here loved the guy with many posts on him before the draft.

We better call every CB undrafted immediately and let them know they can challenge for a starting position THIS YEAR!!!

A lot of you talked about getting Skelton in as a project number 3. Getting rid of Mcfadden who was horrid is a blessing. I'm sure Whiz has a plan to shore up that spot. He wouldn't make a move without a plan. We know this because of who he runs the team. Can't wait to find out who our next corner os!

Yeah... and Whiz didn't bring in Warner either.

Let's not get silly about a #5th round developmental QB who may prove an asset a few years from now. Leave that to Mitch... ;)

Why the sour grapes. The drafts around here for the last 5 years under graves have been damn good. Also you can bet Whiz had the yes or no on whther or not to pull this trade.

It doesn't make any difference Shane. With this group, if something good happens, Whis did it. If they percieve something bad has happened, Graves did it.

I'll give them the benefit of the doubt that they do have a back up plan after how they handled Rolle leaving.

I don't know anything about Skelton other than the profiles but I do know how horrible McFadden was last season. I hated seeing Hood go last year because while not great I thought he was pretty solid. I really don't think it will be difficult for the Cards to replace McFadden's "production" and I'm sure they can do it for a fraction of the cost.

I think it's funny to see everyone criticizing this trade, when in the past we all criticized the Cards for just letting players go..."Damn, they could have at least got a low round draft pick for so and so". So now Graves gets the draft pick and we still complain.

Let's face it, McFadden was a letdown and the Cards have a history of cutting letdowns...At least they may have drafted a QBOF.

Time will tell, but overall I like what the Cards have done.

So Hood was terrible and McFadden was terrible? Doesn't say much about the Cardinals ability to judge free agent CB talent.

I don't think they were terrible...just didn't live up to expectations. Both are suited to be nickel corners, not starters, and thus don't deserve starter compensation.

Their aren't many FA CB's that actually live up to the hype with their new teams...Winfield and Samual being exceptions.

Warner brought big play potential, which is EXACTLY Whiz's style. I'm sure Whiz had a say in drafting Ben R. Looking at the physical attributes of Skelton, one has to be reminded of Roethlisberger.

Rod Hood played great in his first season here and was awful in his second.

Just saw this... I guess Toler played good enough in limited showing last season plus poor play of McFadden plus the money McFadden was due.

We need to get an experience CB for depth
