I thought Palmer played well The gaff at halftime was almost beyond costly though. The FG would have been huge but he looked like he got hurt which made the play even dumber. Losing AE for week or 2 is actually going to benefit us. He played well but it gets CJ back up to speed and D Johnson had the fastest MPH in the league yesterday based on some sensors they had him hooked up too. Even faster than Austin from the Rams. Defense played well. Screens and dink passes are hard to stop...look at the Patriots. I was very pleased and if we can beat Chicago next week...we should be serious contenders if Palmer stays healthy. Reason I say Bears game is so big....its on the road....and it's a trap game when you have 2 division rivals coming next. Plus Chicago has talent.

The only way this is a trap game is if the Cardinals take it too lightly because they won their first game. With all the mistakes we made I find it hard to believe they will be overconfident.

This! We went to him on the 1st play of the game & then I don't think he was targeted again. Did he even play again? Fitz & Brown look great, but Floyd is the key. Hopefully, he'll be close to 100% soon. Only then will our receiving corp be truly scary.

Two things about the Bears:
1.Cutler is very talented, but makes poor decisions, which usually results in Int's at the worst (For the Bears) times. Hope it continues.
2. Forte will be a tougher matchup than Lynch, because of his pass catching abilities, if the NO game was any indication. David Johnson is in the Forte mold.

We beat a team that was 7-9 last year by 12 points at home. We were a 12-4 team last season; let's have some self-esteem. We didn't look "awesome"; we took care of business. The game was very much in doubt until Sean Payton's ovarian cyst flared up inside the two minute warning.

We have to take care of business again next Sunday against a Bears team that isn't all that great. Their offensive line and defense stink.

I hate the "Trap Game" excuse. This is the NFL and if you don't show up every game the other team will beat you.

I thought the Cardinals played kind of sloppy against the Saints. However they still were able to beat an inferior team at home.

On the road they can't continue to make these mistakes.

Yes. This. The true measure of a good team isn't whether you can pull out close games against evenly matched opponents (that's luck) — it's whether you can take care of business against inferior opponents. The Cards managed to do that on Sunday, and they need to do it again next week.

Because this doesn't deserve its own thread, I'll put this here:

Carson Palmer had the second-best outing of the week by FO's advanced Metric, and was great on deep passes.

Also, the Cards managed to stay out of long-yardage situations.

glad to see some folks toss in a bit of reality here.... awesome? no.

I told my ol'lady prior to the game,...we should win 40-15...the saints are a mess right now and we have the system down....

the first two drives they looked great...but one little screw up on the punt return team(13 men on the field)...the saints capitalize,...and our guys completely lost their confidence/mojo/focus...whatever you want to call it....then it took nearly two full quarters of football to get it back. terribly disappointing..... this game should have never been in doubt, should have never been close.....the gap between these two teams is so noticeable,...Drew Stanton should have played the entire fourth quarter.

so they scored enough in the end to make it look like they dominated...okay....

in the end,...we are 1-0,...and I am thrilled about that....just really hope they get their collective **** together soon....tougher opponents loom just over the horizon.

Fox isn't Trestman. He'll do all he can to keep Cutler from losing this game. Our best shot will be to score early and often. Force Cutler to throw the ball. I think I'm more nervous about this game, on the road, than I was for New Orleans - who is a much better team.
