So no one noticed that Hop played 91 percent of the snaps yet has only 3 receptions??? I think Kliff needs to design plays to get Hop the ball more, he’s our best playmaker. You don’t think Kupp and Adams are double teamed every play?! Yet they still get the ball and make plays.

I noticed, I'm sure everyone has. But Hop is historically a 100+ catch guy, and there's an extra game this season, so my personal assumption is that he'll get his. I didn't think KK's schemes for Hop were great last year. Look at his route tree. It seems to be more of the same this year. Hop also isn't a dude who motions a lot or lines up on the other side of the formation, and people blame KK but he's been that way since he entered the NFL.

“Significantly under expectations” ?

He has 22 more yards receiving than Dhop and only 3 less receptions?

What exactly were you expecting?
Hop is even more below expectations rn. For AJ the last game helped his cause but vs camp reports, he has started very slow.

Yet the offense has put up over 400 yards of production every game for the first time in history. There are only so many balls to go around bro. I’d say he’s on par with what should be expected. But Thts just me.

I'm not hating, just surprised he has more snaps than Kirk right now. Can only pin it on being an outside wr.

More from dhop?

Comparing him to an underperforming dhop is kinda disingenuous.

You guys cannot go from complaining about how we needed more from our non-DHop WRs in the offseason to now DHop should get the ball way more.

The wealth is being spread around. There’s a balance now.

Besides, he’ll be there when the lights are shining the brightest.

Not really... with this many guys performing to the tune of over 400 YPG is anyone really “underperforming” ??

And in his initial post he stated Green was “significantly” underperforming expectations? Is he really? There are only so many balls to go around. Moore and especially Kirk have stepped up. It takes targets away from other guys. Heck even Max has stepped up and taken a decent amount of targets the last 2 games.

Quite a surprise to see AJ green on the field so much more than Kirk and Moore at this point in the season. It makes some sense as he is an outside WR but he has been significantly under expectations while Kirk is shining and Moore obv has huge potential.

on AJ Green -- maybe the way to think about it is "what stat line would make you conclude - 'worth it'" when the season is over?

for me-- is something like 50 catches /700- 750 yds / 14-15 avg.

If I had my last $1000 and had to take the over/under on 900 yards I'd take the over.

I'm not betting Pro Bowl season. I'm betting better than 2019 Larry Fitzgerald. Outside of major injury, that's all but a given.

60 receptions, 750 yards and 5 TDs is an improvement.

Green isn’t replacing Fitz. Fitz barely played last year. He was on the field for 66% of then offensive snaps and targeted 72 times.
The person he’s supposed to be replacing is 2018 Larry Fitzgerald: 107 targets, 93% of offensive snaps, 700+ yards and 6 TDs. That’s an acceptable and valuable season.

With 81% of the snaps, he's on pace for 102 targets, 57 catches, 1026 yards, and 5.67 TDs, at 18.1 yards/catch. So I'd say he's well ahead of most expectations and certainly not significantly under ANY of them.

Seeing the week 3 statline, it padding things well. That game was pretty boring so maybe I missed some of his catches. That soft lob from Murray that he got was amazing that none showed up to bat it down

My only point was using dhop as a litmus seems faulty reasoning as dhop isn’t on a normal pace for himself from a historical perspective.

Literally on the last page.
I don’t think any of that was “complaining” about dhop, per se, as much as it’s pointing out he’s underperforming historical numbers/expectations. And it’s not even charging him with the reason for underperformance. I mean, factually he is underperforming expectations in terms of pure numbers. But again, I don’t see a complaint about it. Just two posters that said using him as a standard bc he’s so good is faulty bc his numbers aren’t at his historical standard.

Spreading the ball around is so critical against the Rams.

The December 6th game last year these were the targets:

Hopkins 13
Isabella 5
Edmonds 5
Keesean 4
Arnold 3
Kirk 3
Drake 3

That sort of imbalance plays directly into the Rams hands. Kyler had an awful day while forcing the ball to Hopkins or checking down to RBs. He had just 4.4 yards per attempt.

Just 114 yards the rest of the game after that Arnold TD.

Kyler has specifically mentioned the light turning on about going through his progressions, and now his instinct is to go to the open guy. Teams have been giving a ton of attention to D Hop, and Kyler is hitting the open guy. (Even when it's big Maxxx!)

Once teams adjust, I'm sure Kyler will be happy to target D Hop more, but in the meantime, Kyler spreading it around is the best development.
