we have a good dude in bidwill, local beat writers doing a good life in Arizona , they like the friendly athmosphere in the facilities, they will never make any uncomfortable questions to bruce arians

keim become manager with the old coach brice arians, he suffers arians personality

ARIANS does what he wants to do, nobody will argue with him bout his crappy choices, just fans

he earned some credits here so he does what he wants, wont be a long tenure for sure,if u are stubborn and u are not flexible, then the credit is over

Agreed - the sportscasters/writers in this town are lame, butt-kissers. They refuse to ask the tough questions, and if they ever do, they let whatever garbage answer go unchallenged.

Just saw that Butler has been resigned. Wasn't Quigley doing better than him? Damn Butler back

Not even close to a surprise. The coaching staff likes him. Sadly, Quigley may have been doing a tiny bit better stats-wise but still ranked last, I think, among the league.

Ugh. Can we please get an actual solid to good punter in the offseason?

I can't believe he was still available. Quality punters like him aren't just walking the streets. :D

Shane, Cards still go 3-0 though next 3 as they will not punt for the next 3 weeks.

Been real busy with work and the gym. Not too much time so I check in here for my Cardinal news.

The news of Butler returning is almost heartbreaking.

Question - Butler was placed on IR. He returned. Did we just waste our "IR-with intent to return" on him or can we do that with someone else - like any of the following (I know some will not return due the extent of their injury)..

Reserve/Injured
# NAME POS. HT. WT. AGE EXP. COLLEGE
39 Bouka, Elie CB 6-1 205 24 R Calgary
27 Branch, Tyvon S 6-0 210 29 9 Connecticut
13 Brown, Jaron WR 6-2 205 26 4 Clemson
59 Fua, Alani ILB 6-5 234 24 2 BYU
43 Jenkins, Mike CB 5-10 197 31 9 South Florida
23 Johnson, Chris RB 5-11 203 31 9 East Carolina
69 Mathis, Evan G 6-5 301 35 12 Alabama
80 Momah, Ifeanyi TE 6-7 248 27 2 Boston College

Butler was not placed on IR.

He was cut and given an injury settlement. Any team could have signed him at any time. Given he's one of the worst punters in the league... Cardinals took the chance that he'd remain available later on if they wanted to bring him back.

Most players wont accept the settlement if they can at all avoid it. It basically signs away any liability to the team in case the injury lingers. It also allows the player to return to the field later in the season, where as until this year, that wasn't an option with IR. (this year one player can return... an option still open to us.)

I guess that actually makes some sense, if Cat got hurt in a game it would be better to have a punter who can actually kick.

I googled it doesn't appear he ever kicked in college just punted.

Hopefully won't ever matter.

I still say if he's out there again next year go after Bryan Anger.

Anybody watching the punter for the Carolina Panthers tonight? Was signed off the street this week… And now he's booming kicks 56 and 53 yards with good hang time making our P's look like high school punters yet we cant improve the position?

Mike Pallardy. :bang:

Really good to see Hightower doing so well at age 30, after his devastating knee injury and over three years out of the league!

Really is perplexing that either the team cant or won't invest more in its special teams players. The long snapper fiasco to start the season was reason enough to question this team's priorities w/r/t special teams overall.

Cards don't GAFF about ST.
There may be more to that than what's on the surface. I really get the impression that BA doesn't prioritize ST at all. Obviously, he'd never say that but unless asked, he rarely even talks ST.
