Obviously it was figuritively used... and it is this ugly pink all over the screen, not just "little" pink. My eyes are fine but you had to be smartass about it.

I'm with you. The pink stinks. Even if it is "for a good cause".

Of course the meterosexual boys in Vegas wouldn't think so. :p

BTW: Notice the pink smiley. :D

I tire of all the pink on the field during the month of October. One game? Fine. Not the entire month every year.

There are a lot of financial incentives in place to not cure cancer. Who can say no to supporting the cause?

This.

How much $$ did Jerry Lewis raise for MDA? Over 2 and a half Billion I believe.. How is that cure coming along?

Research Jonas Salk in detail, if you really want to be pissed off about how the stream of cash is distributed.

FWIW, I didn't post it because I'm against it.. anytime awareness is raised is a good enough reason for me, I thought the Fark headline where I got the story was amusing though..
The NFL would like to thank you for supporting Breast Cancer awareness by purchasing a Wilson Official Pink Football for $129.99. We will happily donate a portion of that to charity *writes check for $6.49*

I gave up on one charity I worked with because I found out the local director was living in a gated country club community in a million dollar home off what he made. No his wife did not work and it wasn't family money. Even worse he was a Cowboys fan.

I have no problems with all the pink. But my mother almost died from breast cancer when I was very young, so it's something that has probably stuck with me more than most. I just wish greedy pricks weren't the ones controlling the cash

I like ones like this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bill_&_Melinda_Gates_Foundation
put hundreds of millions of their own $$$ into it, and it is completely transparent. They're not crying for attention, just doing what they feel is the right thing

Are you talking about the NFL here or are you referring to the SG Komen Foundation? If you're talking about the Komen charity, I heartily agree. I haven't really dug into it but the little bits I've heard through the years make me seriously question their value (and their integrity). As for the NFL, it's pretty much their job to be greedy pricks so it's no big deal to me.

I really wasn't speaking about any specific organization. Just a broad statement about the ones that forgot what they were supposed to be doing it for in the first place

Understood. Unfortunately, that seems to happen all too often.
