Can't see him on the team next year but don't know what the cap hit would be. Would love to see him traded to the Vikings for Michael Bennett.

There's no way the Vikes will swap Bennett for someone who is a complete bust. All we got for Thomas Jones was Marquise Walker.

Maybe we could edit videotape if this year's games and put his name and number over Dockett's. It could work!

Cut him and take the cap hit, at least the money won't be spent. The actual cash could be used toward a signing bonus.

Yeah you are right. No one will give us anything for him. He doesn't even suit up for games!!

As I ask everytime a situation like this comes up. Bryant has a contract, all standard NFL contracts have a clause in them that allows the team to void the deal if the player breaks some sort of moral or ethical rules of the contract. Most of those include criminal acts, drugs etc.

Would seem to me the Cards could just say Bryant violated his contract and be done with him? They could probably even challenge some of his bonus the way the Dolphins did with Ricky Williams? Might be bad PR but if the concern on getting rid of him is leftover money on his contract, and you have a clause in the contract that lets you get out, why not use it?

Just goes to show that all other teams think they can be the ones to make something out of nothing of former high round picks. It happens all the time, we may think Bryant is a complete bust but other teams still think they can make something out of him. Bryant does have value to other teams and the Vikings could be one of them becuase of 3 reasons:

1. their depth right now is horrible,
2. it will get worse when Hovan leaves,
3. since we will be paying his signing bonus Bryant will only cost the vikings: 2004 380000.00
2005 455000.00
2006 545000.00

Bryant for Bennett could work becuase they know they need to get rid of him, the RB will be saturated with FA's as will the draft so there asking price will have to be lower then normal so why not get something before they cut have to cut him. Here is my trade idea.

Ray Thompson(Vikings have the slowest LB's in the league)
Wendall Bryant
7th round pick

FOR

Bennett
3rd round pick

i want some of what you're smoking. ray has marginal value (and strikes against him) and wendell has no value (and strikes against him) yet we're gonna get a player with current value and a higher draft pick? c'mon . . .

WB has no value. He is a complete bust. Two years from now he will be selling insurance.

That's the key, teams don't trade for players in the NFL drug program very often, especially with multiple strikes. That's why nobody in the NFL feels that sorry for Miami, even though most of us didn't know, they DID know about Ricky's drug tests and they still traded for him.
