Check these out...some of the surprises I agree with...some I question.

www.nationalfootballpost.com/209/04/nfp-prospect-position-rankings-6/

Some highlights:

QB:

1. Sanchez
2. Stafford
3. White

I agree

RB:

1. Moreno
2. Wells
3. Greene
4. A. Brown
5. D. Brown

I agree with the first three. I like Donald Brown better than Andre Brown.

WR:

1. Crabtree
2. Maclin
3. Nicks
4. Harvin
5. Britt

Switch Britt to #3 and I agree.

TE:

1. Nelson
2. Pettigrew
3. Cook
4. Casey
5. Coffman

Very interesting. Haven't seen enough of Nelson, but was disappointed in Pettigrew's effort and performance at the Senior Bowl.

C:

1. Mack
2. Unger
3. Wood
4. Caldwell

Agreed (even though I like Wood the best)...but you really could rank them 1a-1d.

OLB/DE Hybrids (34OLB)

1. Maybin
2. Matthews
3. E. Brown
4. Barwin
5. Orakpo
6. English
7. Sidbury
8. Veikune
9. Sintim
10. C. Brown

Not sure about Matthews that high...but he sees what I do in Barwin. And I like Veikune better than Sidbury.

DE

1. Ayers
2. Tyson Jackson
3. M. Johnson
4. Moore
5. Kruger

34ILB

1. Maualuga
2. Cushing
3. F. Joseph
4. J. Brinkley
5. C. Sintim

DT

1. Raji
2. J. Gilbert
3. Jerry
4. Hood

I like Jerry over Gilbert for sure.

CB

1. S. Smith
2. M. Jenkins
3. D.J. Moore
4. D. Butler
5. A. Smith

I'd put Smith at the top of this list. Jenkins will likely be a FS in the NFL.

FS

1. S. Martin
2. D. McBath
3. L. Delmas
4. R. Johnson

The love for Sherrod Martin rages on.

I can't wait to see what Maualuga does as a pro.

English and Orakpo are too low in my opinion.

Part of me still wants Sean Smith even with the signing of Bryant McFadden.

I don't know why but I don't like Andre Brown at all. I can't possibly see why he would be rated higher than Donald Brown.

Yah what is it that you really don't like about Barwin anytimeuwnt? Just out of curiosity.

Not him but I'll try. Great athlete but very raw and has much much learning to do.

I'll quote the negatives from a scouting report I saw.

Only a one trick pony with few counter moves. One year starter on defense and is still very raw, Late to react to the ball and does not instinctively see plays developing. Lacks strength at the point of attack. Takes on blocks with the wrong shoulder. Not stout and needs to get stronger and do a better job setting the edge and containing. Lacks base strength and needs to spend more time in the weight room.

To be fair a lot of the negatives are a result of inexperience at the position, but that is what you get with a position switch like Barwin. He may be able to overcome a lot of these problems with time and coaching but they may also be magnified by higher level play and better scouting. NFL players will take advantage of every weakness an opponent shows.

Exactly....

Barwin is this year's work out wonder. Will he be as bad as Mamula? Probably not. His motor is high but he doesn't have the skills at this time to be a solid contributor this year. And if I must be blunt.... I think the NFL offensive lines will kill him. He reminds me of Jamaal Anderson, Vernon Gholston, and many others that are swallowed by the better lineman in the NFL.

We need people now. Not 3 years from now. I feel almost the same way about Maybin.
