seriously who cares about a 21 yeard old rookie qb and his preess conference, he doesnt have to be smooth in front of the camera to be a great qb

i saw many well spoken players being trash on the field, so lets think about the draft and stop with this anti murray campain which is dreadful considering is our new qb
I care that the QB of my team can’t prepare for easy interviews despite having a wealth of experienced people there to help him. If you can’t prepare for a press conference, how does that instill confidence that you can prepare for a defense?

If anyone saw/heard his interview on the Dan Patrick Show, this is a repeat performance.

Cam Newton, Michael Vick, Eli Manning,
Cam Newton and Eli Manning are not bad in front of the press. Cam's had some occasional fits, but he's still pretty good in that role and is an outward, social personality. Eli Manning does tons with the media.

Even Vick wasn't bad, but he's also not successful.

Cam Newton came off as a tremendous douche before the draft.

I care because I really can't come up with an example of a poorly spoken, questionable commitment QB that has succeeded purely on athletic talent alone. All of the greats have the ability to handle simple press conferences, especially the ones where it's GOOD news. Like someone else said, how is this kid going to react when he throws 3 INTs in a game, and we lose? How is he going to manage the locker room when we're losing a bunch of games, as opposed to the baby gloves he's had going to some of the best football programs at every level?

Everybody likes to compare him to Russell Wilson. Wilson can understand a simple question and is articulate. It's obvious that he has a brain. After listening to Murray speak multiple times now, I'm not sure he understands anything. I can't wait to see how this guy dissects an NFL defense. Be afraid.

Q: "What do you want to tell the fans?"

KM: "Uh, you've got a winner..."

Just missing the "in town."

LOL you guys are hilarious.

Hes a kid. From Texas. Doesnt seem to be a complicated person.
Handwaving excuses. Again. Literally the argument seems to be "since I saw this kid run really fast and throw some great balls, I am going to ignore EVERYTHING ELSE."

Cam Newton came off as a tremendous douche before the draft.
An overconfident douche, sure, but not completely unprepared.

I promise I'm not gonna spend the entire offseason griping about Murray. I'll get over in a few days, and I'll be excited to see him in training camp, preseason, and into the season.

I've already apologized for the overreaction last night, but like I said in that thread... I was a little drunk and took things a little too far. I was stupid for doing it. There's not a point in addressing it again, but you're one of my favorite posters, so I figured I'd give you one more reply.

I'm not changing my fan allegiance. I would have been wrong about Cousins, and I'm man enough to admit it - I just didn't realize how bad the talent on this team really was last year.

What I'll say though, I'm sorry, is that Kyler Murray wouldn't have passed my test for an entry level job interview for people I hire. Checking your cellphone in that moment is just unacceptable.

Thanks man. I hope he will. But it's going to take a lot to do, more than a couple of neat plays.
Checking his phone is the worst thing he could do but maybe we're just old now

He seemed nervous.

Which to me is a surprise, considering him being the QB at a top program and Heisman winner but again he is young, time and experience SHOULD change that.

I was always a wreck before public speaking at a young age but now it's no sweat.

We're not too old for kids that work for me to be respectful and pocket their phones during meetings.

If a 21 year old from UNLV can do it, so can Kyler Murray.

okay... checking your phone ain't the best look. I watched the conference. Didn't really inspire a ton of confidence, but hopefully he's just a young nervous kid who's talking will be done on the field.
