What condition the position is in: Assessing Raiders need at LB ahead of the NFL Draft

With the draft under a month away, it’s time to check in on the Raiders’ linebacker position to give it a condition of either Strong, Stable, Unstable, Serious, or Critical.

Starters: Elandon Roberts, Devin White​

Backups: Luke Masterson, Amari Gainer, Amari Burney, Tommy Eichenberg, Brandon Smith, Jackson Mitchell

Robert Spillane and Divine Deablo were both allowed to walk in free agency. They were replaced by two veterans on one-year deals.

Condition: Unstable​

Roberts should do well to hold down the middle linebacker spot. Devin White is penciled in as the starting outside linebacker, but ideally he would be challenged for that job and right now there's no one on the team who stands out as being that challenger. Either way, depth and long term answers are needed.

Draft projection​

I would expect the Raiders to try to address linebacker in the mid-rounds. Probably somewhere between round three and five, depending on who is on the board both at linebacker as well as other need positions.
