LeBron might just be this era's Shaq. Just too much talent for his own good, too much... too easy. Sure, he might win 3 titles, but he, like Shaq, should have been able to dominate this game unlike anyone ever has.

Mike Brown to LeBron could be like Doug Collins to Jordan.

If LeBron got a championship caliber coach, like Jordan did when Phil took over, the titles would come rolling in

What he meant was "see these empty fingers? You will still have these empty fingers after I leave."

My dream scenario is that the Suns meet Cleveland in the Finals, O'Neal gets completely run off the court, the Suns close out the series in Game 5 at home, and somehow I get a $1000 seat to the game so that I can hold up a huge banner reading "HEY SHAQ THANKS FOR THE RING!"

What the hell?

Man, I don't know if this has already been covered, but does Jamison look completely impotent or what? That and JJ Hickson, the guy they wanted to trade back for Amare, never gets burn. I sure am glad the Suns held on that offer! But, back to Jamison, he is useless for them. Their 5 spot is too big and slow (Shaq) and Perkins is not only strong enough to bang with Shaq, he is quicker than him at this stage. If CLE had gotten a Marcus Camby or a Theo Ratliff type, they'd be worlds better. Even Okafor or Dalembert would have made their team make more sense, but that's their deal to work with....

I don't see why the hatred against Shaq, just as it used to be against Marbury. He didn't do anything harming the franchise, nor did Marbury. I think if Nash played defense as well as he does now, in DA's last season, we might have beaten Spurs already 2 years ago, though the current roster composition/chemstry is a lot better. Mainly due to Gentry.

And cheesebeef, I'm fine with Phil starting over in NY with LBJ and Bosh, but I believe our Amare/Nash led Suns will win the title for the next 3 years in a row. Sorry, to bust your fantasy. ;)

ROFL, it's a thread about the Cavs and you still have to take a swipe at Nash. Great stuff.

That's hommage to Nash and compliment on his courage to "improve" his game in that department. You are still bitter that I told you Amare/Nash will be better than Malone/Stockton once Nash emulates Stockton a bit, or still proud of the fact you tried to riducule me for my vision about that. :D

uh... when did Amare/Nash lead their team to the Finals? This duo still has a ways to go until they reach that rarified air.

Vision! My friend. :D

The point was that amid the trades talks early in the year, most of the posters labeled me a Nash basher for seeing the potential of Amare/Nash of emulating that of Malone/Stockton, since it required Nash to play a "lesser" role than he had been doing, so to say downgrade himself to Stockton. That's considered blasmephy and has been held against me. I'm quite proud, to be honest. They still have some years together in the year to prove that they are even better than Malone/Stockton, but the making is written on the wall. :)

THey have a few years left to play together IF Amare doesnt opt out and IF Nash doesnt break down. Dragic will be nipping at his heals tho. We dont have an answer to losing Amare because Charmin Frye is not that person.

Why it's not Shaq's fault the Suns didn't get anywhere last year. Not to mention Shaq played a decent game. The Cavs bench was horrendous. Nobody on the bench showed up to play. When you add that with Lebron only scoring 15 points...that is a disaster of the worst kind.

Didn't you hear Pop say at the press conference after game 3 that Dragic playing like that would extend Nash career to play another 5-6 years?;) For Nash, I can't say enough "less is more". I hope he plays less than 30 min in regular seasons from now on. Stockton had 5-6 years playing below 30 before he finally retired, and still effecive. It's about applying his effort and game savvy for the most crucial moments in games. Well, that vision by itself might coax Amare into sticking around here. ;)

It's irrational. But when people had high hopes in someone, they'd have higher disappointment in, and often turned bitterness against, that person.

I can't imagine being a Cardinals and Lakers fan at the same time. At one point I was a Suns fan, Cardinals fan, Expos fan, and Habs fan (went to college in Montreal, and the Coyotes and Diamondbacks arrived after I left Phoenix). All were mediocre-to-terrible, one of them relocated, and all those Stanley Cups in the past made me profoundly uncomfortable.

Simmons had a quote about Jets fans once, something like the only way they will accept winning a Super Bowl is if they go out to a big lead, completely blow it, and finally eek it out in the last second. That way they can lose and win in the same game. I related to that. :D Reminds me of his recent quote about Suns fans.

Just to clarify, I have nothing against Shaq. I think he played his ass off for the Suns. I actually believe he played harder for the Suns than ever before in his career. What's really amazing is that once he got traded, he never said anything bad about the team, city, organization, coach, GM, etc, which is really uncharacteristic for Shaq. Who knows what would have happened last year had Amare been healthy. I like Shaq, just like I like Marbury.

My comment was not intended as a jab at Shaq, I just found it amusing that after not making playoffs, the Suns traded their leading rebounder and 2nd (or 3rd) leading scorer for nothing, and made it to the conference finals at the very least.

Shaq is an anchor at this point. He is in the way of his own players on defense and on offense.

To me, the real problem is coaching. You have a coach who does not take responsibility for play and does not call his players out. I sure hope this series goes to 7.

I have always liked Shaq; except when we play against him. Dumping Shaq definitely helped but i cant help but feel that firing Porter was the biggest turnaround. How would it have gone with Gentry coaching, i guess we will never know.

Yeah like me. I'm a RAMS fan because before '88 there was no NFL here, while the SUNS have been here since the day i entered into this world in '69.
Bit of a head scratcher how one could be an old school LAKERS fan & then wave the flag of the Big Red......unless maybe they followed the Cards move from St Louis.....or maybe it has something to do with the teams recent success.
I don't know.
