Wade will stay in Miami but who will Reily now go after?? Additionally who will want to go to Miami without Lebron.

Miami is decimated, but that's the price you pay when you build a championship team of veterans. I'm sure they'll accept the trade-off.

There is no way Wade should stay in Miami. Cleveland has their 1st round pick next year so even if Wade stuck it out....no high draft to pick. Wade is probably on the downside of his career and can't wait until the Heat rebuild.

I guess it comes down to Wade's motives. Is loyalty to the organization more important than another crack at winning? I think Wade paid his dues to Miami.

Get out.

I do not think contenders are going to want Wade. I think he is going to HAVE to stay in Miami.

For what he will want in salary, certainly. I think too much is being made for Cleveland having Miami pick next year, or rather potentially having it. It's top 10 protected and it's looking like they will easily be in the top 10 worst teams next year.

But at some point it will have to convey and is unprotected in 2017. I do not see Miami being good any time within the next 4-5 years.

Short cuts lead to short success.

That's true. If Cleveland does trade for Love, that pick will likely be included and either way, Minn. or Cleveland will blow the selection.

If I were Minny, I would demand that pick in the deal. It would probably sting a little less in Miami if Minny were actually the ones making the selection.

Bulls are talking to Wade per Woj.

https://twitter.com/WojYahooNBA

Boy was I wrong on that one.

if they can't get Melo, I think he makes sense as another scorer to put next to Rose. But man, now you're talking about two walking wounded in the backcourt. but that teams needs scoring...any kind of scoring and Wade probably won't command more then 10 mill per year.

Wade can't even spell defense anymore, let alone play it. He is now a liability on any roster. Topping it off, he opted out of the last 2 years of his Miami contract. That dude is sitting in limbo.

Agree. Out of all 3, the one I was having he hardest time believing would depart Miami was Wade. Now that Bosh is there I think he definitely stays.
I don't think Wade can go anywhere, he just doesn't have the mobility.

Maybe the Suns can bring Wade in to play PF, the way things are going.

1:54pm: It’s a two-year deal with player option in the final season, sources tell Tim Reynolds of The Associated Press, who expects Wade’s salary for this season to come in between $16-17MM (Twitter link).

1:08pm: Dwyane Wade is indeed set to re-sign with the Heat, reports Jeff Zillgitt of USA Today (on Twitter), confiming Wade’s Instagram post suggesting that a deal is done. There was little doubt that Miami and the Henry Thomas client would strike an agreement, and the Heat made a strong push to retain its longtime star in the hours after LeBron James returned to Cleveland.

That is a lot of money

Miami is incredibly stupid. The Heat will barely make playoffs with Wade in and out of the lineup due to injuries. And despite that, they will be paying Wade all that money.

I'm sure they had a deal worked out. "You opt out and we'll take care of you."

guess the Heat haven't learned from Kobe's killer contract...or Duncan's hometown deal what to do with stars pasts their prime

I think the Heat pretty much had to do that. I can't believe he opted out on his own volition, it had to have been discussed and promises were likely made (something along the lines of "you won't get hurt by it"). I read the supposed rationalization for signing Kobe to a big deal and while I no longer remember the specifics, I do remember it floored me. As in, STOOPID.

Maybe he originally opted out to give the team more flexibility should Lebron resign for the Max and if he doesn't return you get a different deal since we are not signing him?
