What if Murray knew he would be running back to baseball all along because in a recent interview he's still saying what a tough decision it was to chose and and still loves baseball... I don't think this guy is going to play football if he's not a superstar sooner than later
The problem with baseball is the circuitous route so many prospects have to take to get to the big leagues. The A's guaranteed him a roster spot, but that doesn't mean he wouldn't go down to the minors. IMO baseball is the sport where athleticism matters the least, it's that ability to hit a ball that is fundamentally the hardest thing to do in sports. Even if Murray can track down fly balls like crazy, if he can't hit at the big league level he won't stick around.
The chances to be a "star" are crazy high in baseball. So many good prospects flame out.
With playing QB, he's guaranteed one of 96 jobs for at least 4-5 years, and if drafted in the first round, his chances of making a lot of money are higher than in baseball.
