They can't really come out and say anything because the league would veto the trade just like when Stackhouse opened his mouth about the JKidd trade.

But since every Ilgauskas trade being reported is saying the teams will waive him seems to strongly suggest it's already been agreed upon that he won't be playing for anyone but the Cavs.

So you're just assuming. Got it.

The reports say there will be a buyout because the teams that will trade for him want financial flexibility, not because Ilgauskus said he won't play for them. He doesn't have that kind of power.

And you're assuming he'd be willing to play for another team when the team he's spent his entire career with is on the verge of winning a championship. So we are both assuming. And I already said he can't come out publicly about it because the league wouldn't allow the trade.

Rony Seikaly had that kind of power so I fail to see how Ilgauskas wouldn't. Not like teams can force him to play.

Regardless the reason I'd bet everything on him being waived so it's a moot point.

I think if he works on his game and continues to progress like alot of cleavland fans have said he has this year he could be a 18-8-1 type of guy whithin a few years. He already has a better inside game than amare (footwork/back to the basket) and from what the cavs fans says hes an avg defender.
Apparently he has been working on his midrange (he was injured most of last summer) and while his mechanics are there he needs another offseason of work on it.
They say he was hitting them in pre season but for one reason or another his confidence in it is down right now and isnt hitting the few hes taking.

My predicitions are if he gets traded to the suns this year his stats will be 14-7 after the trade.

Another thing Id like to add is he seems to have gotten more athletic as hes gotten older. I was watching some highschool clips and he really didnt impress me at all. Comparing his college to pro athleticism it seemed to me that he had made another jump once he hit the NBA.

blablabla

I can't believe you actually try to believe ANY of that.

Hickson can't throw the ball into the ocean unless Lebron is freeing him up right under the rim. 27% FG if you exclude layups. If you go to Cleveland boards and check game threads you will find a lot more frustration with Hickson than anything else.

Why didn't we trade Paul McPherson for Vince Carter then.

Ive been following Hickson for the last 4 years.

Dont read into the numbers too much sinslin, Hickson has very good form on his jump for a guy who never had to shoot jumpers up until this level. Hickson will develop into a good jump shooter, you have to give him time to develop as he just entered his 20s.

Most guys his age would barely see the floor on a championship caliber team.

He has very long arms, is athletic, plays hard, and is very good around the basket on offense and defense.

I think Hickson turn into a good PF, but not a star. He defnitely has the tools to become a very good player, but I wouldnt bank on him being an all-star, although he does remind me a bit of Al Horford (more athletic, less skilled)

27% FG outside of layups...

Couldn't care less about his form, Amare shot better as a rookie I am pretty sure and Hickson had college and is in his second year.

He is 6'9, he is shorter than Amare who is already on the short side of PFs.

Maybe you should stick to starting threads about jumping ship to another team since you have nothing to add to the conversation.

Paul Millsap.

I like the Millsap comparison if true, especially since Hickson would potentially have more upside potential. He would be a PF that actually plays like a PF. Millsap is a beast underneath the basket

He was compared to Wilcox coming out of college....

I've seen very little of Hickson, but I don't think that's a good comparison. If you look at their weights, Hickson is much, much bulkier than Wilcox, who is really pretty scrawny (and whose game suffers accordingly).

I'm not making the comparison. I literally know nothing about this guy and I stated just that earlier in the thread. I'm just trying to get a read on one potential situation....

I want a guy to dominate the boards on each end of the floor. Also, a good defender, Not sure I care if he can shoot. We need a power rebounder and defender. Now I don't know if this guy is it. Those of you that have seen him play can tell us this.

I could care less about your commentary on a guy who has very good form and has only taken around 100 jump shots in his NBA career.

Hickson didnt need to shoot jumpshots in college, because he dominated the paint at NC St, just like he did in high school. Regardless, he has very good form and will develop a good shot. Hickson is widely regarded as being a PF who can stretch the floor, he just needs to be more consistent on his jumper and get more practice in.

I hope you realize Amare measured 6'8.5 without shoes and Hickson is maybe an inch or two shorter with the same wingspan.

Hickson sint going to turn into Amare, but to state he is a terrible jump shooter and is short, doesnt actually paint a very realistic picture about his game at all.
