More like beating STL, SF and Seattle in succession went to his head.

Did the Cards really go on an 11-2 run? And go 4-2 in the Division just two seasons ago? Or was that just a dream I had after imbibing too much Kardinal Kool Aid?

Jurecki talked about it at the end of last season. He mentioned that he came into camp like he was the guy and never dug into the play book.

And one reporter told me off the record which I told some people here about during the season. the primary reason he got benched is Whiz got fed up with him not knowing the plays. it came to a head in the atlanta game(?) when he ran a key 3rd down play with Floyd lined up on the wrong side of the field while the whole staff was yelling at him to move Floyd or call timeout. The play was supposed to go to Housler, but Floyd ran the right pattern, from the wrong side and ran right in front of Housler. Skelton essentially buried the ball into the ground because he had nowhere to throw, and then was glaring at Floyd.

The staff said sure he lined up wrong, hes' been doing that all year, but you're the QB, you're supposed to see that and move him, which Kolb had been doing constantly earlier in the season.

Then we got the ball right back, Fitz wide open in the endzone, Skelton missed him and that was it. Whiz had seen enough and went to Lindley, who'd been getting reps in practice because they were so fed up with Skelton they hoped it would light a fire under him.

Later in the year a couple of times Whiz made reference to Skelton needing to be better prepared to play, that the slow starts couldn't continue he needed to be in charge.

Lindley was horrible, probably still is, but there was a reason he was playing and it wasn't that Whiz was an idiot it was that Whiz had been talking about accountability all year and didn't think it was fair that his starting QB, didn't know the plays.

Before he was replaced, Skelton had completed two of seven passes for six yards. Kevin Kolb, who has traded the starter/backup roles with Skelton this season, isn't active while dealing with shoulder and rib injuries.

On Lindley's first career drive, the Falcons forced him to fumble. Though the play looked dead to a number of players -- including Fitzgerald, who ran right past the ball after he apparently thought it was an incomplete pass -- Jonathan Babineaux scooped it up and returned it for the 15-yard touchdown.

Does this ever sum up the fiasco that was the 2012 Cardinal Football season.

:D

That is despicable and reprehensible. Classless and bigoted. Kind of stuff that brings the whole board down. Come on man, you are better than that.

Get over it.. I said it as a joke from what I was saying last year..

But maybe I am not better than that though? Haha

For people who say he sucks that didn't play at this level John QB had some moderate success. Yes last year he was lost on the field with lousy coaching. Yes he has a big arm but overthrew many times. But IMO he was the best we had the last bad season. At least when he was in the game he gave 100%. I never plaed with an O-line the likes of which a QB had better get life insurance.

I know he needed to go. Kolb needed to go and Lindsly should be gone. I'm happy with a real coaching staff and Palmer as our field leader. But, JS has plenty of talent in my opinion.

Skelton is a Hillbilly. He probably cant even tell his left from right hand.. When alone, his ******** session must seem like a weird ******** session with his cousins.. It ends in a safety

Add hypocritical to the list since Gee took offense to the bigoted comments of the eagles WR.

To be fair, these two guys are not that far apart, some might even call them both a form of a hillbilly.

Ya, all that work, yet somehow weren't people saying he "didn't know the offense" after the Atlanta debacle last season?

Not necessarily defending Skelton... BUT... I am not convinced that ANYONE knew the offense the last few years...Including the "architect"... Just sayin'

Can I just inquire as to why we're still discussing Skelton? When Ryan Williams retires and gets a regular job are we going to discuss that as well? Because that's where Skelton is headed.

Skelton didn't win anything substantial for us. He was merely the best out of a craptacular group of QB's. Williams isn't even the best bad RB on our team. Nostalgia and sentimentality for players who didn't even do anything is a waste of energy.

I don't even see an ADUB thread, what's he doing, what's he eating, did he visit the hyperbolic chamber today? None of that, but we're concerned with Skelton, who did absolutely nothing for this team. We're concerned with Ryan Williams knee and Skelton's suckage, and Lindley's disgust, but nothing about players who really made a difference to this team.

ADUB especially will make the HOF. No mention. Because he's not all warm and fuzzy and getting all teary-eyed and sentimental. New generation I guess. NO respect for the grizzled veterans who stuck with this team through absolute suckage, when they were the best player on the team, waiting for everyone else to catch up. Discarded like so much trash.

What has happened to get us to talk about Adrian Wilson? Williams knee is a current event. So are Lindley's inaccuracy and Skelton's play last night. I would imagine there would be a thread about ADUB if he takes one to the house vs the Eagles tonight or has a pick or highlight reel tackle.

ADUB rocks just nothing has come out about him besides a scout saying he looks bad in coverage - nothing to speak of yet.

This: when he plays we will talk about him.

You do realize that the gap in talent between the 1st unit and 4th/5th unit is wider than the Grand Canyon? To say otherwise is naive and foolish and there is a reason they are camp bodies. Sure, there is one or two of them that will make a team and turn into serviceable players.

As far as his work ethic, it was reported numerous times last season that he did not put the work in and had a terrible attitude. There was a reason that when healthy, Lindley was getting the starts over him. He did not know all the play 3/4 through the season.

Just as you pointed out, you realize that Skelton was playing with the Bengal reserve players, including their receivers and offensive line. So does that make what he did any less real against guys who are fighting for their pro football lives and doing their best? If you tried to play with a group of players with talent that far exceeded yours or was far less than yours, could you produce? Your hatred for Skelton is funny and illogical. Give the man his due, because next week it might be a different story or he might also produce again. Instead of your arrogant words, his football future will depend on how he does in a new offense and with coaches who might be willing to be more professional than the panic prone Whisenhunt who tried to hide how he had no answers by blaming the players when it all started with him and his impotent "system."

So you have Skelton rated 135 out of a 100? Poor Andy Dalton'

Figures. Skelton would give this team a better chance to win than Lindley even if he only knew 50% if the playboom.

Sheesh...thank goodness that circus left town

I'm not sure that we read that the same way. It sounded to me like CKW's problem in this wasn't that he benched Skelton it's that he waited so long to hold him accountable. I think you have to be consistent with your team when you talk about discipline and accountability. You can't let someone get away with failure in those areas just because it's an important player or pivotal position. If John didn't know the playbook that had to have been a season long issue and he probably should have benched him much earlier.

I'm sure we're going to have a whole new bushel of problems to deal with this season but I'm so glad Skelton and Lindley won't be among them (probably). To have to start Lindley, one of the worst QB's ever based on his showing last season, is the stuff of nightmares. As bad as John had been last season, he was another level above the QB pretender who replaced him.

Seems to me that Whiz was sunk as soon as he went with Kolb to begin with and failed to improve the OL. When Levi went down (or the OL just stunk) and Kolb got hurt (due to OL and holding the ball too long) whiz was forced to go with Skelton who was trying to live off whatever success he may have had before. Having to go with a QB who wouldn't learn the offense was going to fail whether they failed with Skelton or failed miserably with Lindley. Whiz was a goner long before Lindley played. My opinions.
