Could make a good back QB for the Bengals or another team.Game like that will get other coaches to look at you more.

Kee-ripes! It's the preseason!

I just went 7 of 8 with the crap I just took, including hitting Steve Largent in stride on the other side of my yard.

:biglaugh:

Exactly!!!

As Charles Barkley says, "He's turrible". :D

The great Sid Gilliam & Don Coryell couldn't make Skelton accurate with their coaching IMO...you either have that skill or you don't!

Arians will likely only carry two QBs, which means regardless, Skelton would not have stuck on this roster past August.

Either way, Lindley and Skelton are both cut from the same QB mold that created the likes of Derek Anderson: can throw the ball a country mile, but can't throw anywhere near the receiver's zip code. Neither of whom belong on this team.

What is Derek Anderson doing this week?

Was that Money Mike with the pick in the Denver San Francisco game?

Skelton is a Hillbilly. He probably cant even tell his left from right hand.. When alone, his ******** session must seem like a weird ******** session with his cousins.. It ends in a safety

I have an irrational dislike of Lindley and Skelton. But, worse yet, I think all of our expectations on them were too high to begin with. None of those guys were ever intended by nature to be starters in this league, they are the guys that you have as a third string QB on your roster for 2-3 years until you draft the next project QB that never amounts to anything. We just totally trusted Whisenhunt after the superbowl and playoff season to make the right choice in replacing Warner, he failed miserably without any realistic options and Skelton goes in for Anderson/Hall. So then, Kolb comes back and we anoint him as the new savior QB and he fails miserably/can't ever stay healthy. We draft Lindley, who is thrust into the starting role he should never have on any team that was slightly less F'd up than we were. These guys were doomed to be the hated failures by Cardinals fans, thanks to Ken Whisenhunt.

I feel bad that they were ever placed on a pedestal and expected to do anything.

But Lindley sucks more.

That is despicable and reprehensible. Classless and bigoted. Kind of stuff that brings the whole board down. Come on man, you are better than that.

Regarding Skelton's work ethics while he was a Card, it was widely known and reported that he hung around the Cards facility working out and practicing 7 days a week. If the facility was closed, he was working out in nearby fields with other players. This was reported a few times on various forums that he was in town all of the time working on his game while Kolb was back home in Texas with his family and going out hunting and fishing.

As for how Skelton is doing learning the West Coast Offense for the first time, he got to play in the 4th quarter and did OK since he played against 2nd, 3rd, and 4th stringers. Here is his stats for the game. Looks like he produced when given the opportunity.

He was 4 for 5, 72 yards, 1 TD and a QB rating of 158.3

Hey, this better than even Brian Hoyer who went 10 for 14, 100 yards, 1 TD, and a QB rating of 115.2

Not bad and not unexpected for a QB who has played 20 regular season NFL games. Sure he played against reserves and hopefuls, but he did well as he should have, even since he is learning to play the West Coast offense for the first time ever. Of course the Bengals have to be pleased that he did good for his first time running the WCO. Perhaps they will give him more time and earlier in the game next week.

Of course he should have bested reserve players

Nah, he did it against 4th and 5th stringers. If anything, seeing him show some accuracy makes me question his work ethics while he was here, which was reported as weak. Being he is close to being out the league, it appears he may finally be putting the work in and if he were still here, the same could not be said.

Of course he did well since he won many games playing against first team NFL defenses. Of course a hater would not be fair enough to give him any credit for doing this in a new offensive system that is completely new to him. Of course, a hater would be closed minded to the fact no matter the level of competition (4th and 5th stringers), these reserves are the upper crust from the thousands of college players who started for their college teams. Of course, a hater would never give credit to a player trying their best to compete and find another job.

It is always so Funny that sofa slugs denigrate 3rd, 4th, and 5th stringers who can athletically kick their butts into the next county. Sniping from the safety of the sidelines with your identity hidden from exposure is always so much braver than going out to compete and failing to max out your dreams. The warrior does it all while the couch slugs get to chug their beers and feel so superior to true athletes.

You do realize that the gap in talent between the 1st unit and 4th/5th unit is wider than the Grand Canyon? To say otherwise is naive and foolish and there is a reason they are camp bodies. Sure, there is one or two of them that will make a team and turn into serviceable players.

As far as his work ethic, it was reported numerous times last season that he did not put the work in and had a terrible attitude. There was a reason that when healthy, Lindley was getting the starts over him. He did not know all the play 3/4 through the season.

You think so?

So glad Skelton is gone from our team.

Sure Skelton is gone. In his senior college season, he ended up with a QB rating of 150.1, completion ave of 64.4%, 28 TD, and 10 INTs.

In his game last night during mop up, he went 4 for 5, 72 yards, 1 TD, 0 INT, and a QB rating of 158.3

The Cards still have Lindley (one of Keim's boys) and his senior completion ave was 54% and his other numbers that corresponded to that.

So far, Lindley has thrown twice more ints in training camp than Palmer and Stanton combined.

Imagine how great Double Deuce's final season in the Patriot League would have been if not for going against the vaunted Columbia Defense. He also struggled against the college of Bryant (named after Kobe?).

I've heard that a lot but never saw anything other than reports on message boards. Did Somers or Urban ever write anything like that? Of course we usually only hear about these things after a player leaves.

Regardless something caused Skelton to go from Double Deuce to Double Dunce last season.

Ya, all that work, yet somehow weren't people saying he "didn't know the offense" after the Atlanta debacle last season?

Where did the Double Deuce nickname come from? What does it refer to?

Jurecki talked about it at the end of last season. He mentioned that he came into camp like he was the guy and never dug into the play book.

Why would a guy who threw 5 touchdowns in a game vs both Cornell and Georgetown need to?

More like beating STL, SF and Seattle in succession went to his head.

Did the Cards really go on an 11-2 run? And go 4-2 in the Division just two seasons ago? Or was that just a dream I had after imbibing too much Kardinal Kool Aid?
