What is more important, a win or loss this week against the Chargers?

A win might save Green's job, plus build some momentum going into next year. A loss helps the Cardinals with a better draft pick. Which one do you prefer?

You always want to win regardless of draft position or personnel changes. We showed in week six we could play with the best teams in the league, let's do it again when it means something to the other team.

I am kinda torn. If a loss absolutely sealed Green's fate, then I would want us to lose in OT.

After the Leinart scare last week, I just want us to be healthy after the game.

Given that:

1) I think the decision on Green has already been made
2) The difference in likely draft position with a win vs a loss-- 5th vs 7th at worst isnt that great

I want a win. At a minimum, I want a team that looks like it belongs on the same field.

A WIN----- not even close!

If losses ever did anything good, we'd have five Super Bowl rings, instead of the Cowboys or Ninera.

I want a win.

Green's gone no matter what, and the change in draft position is minimal.

Last time I looked, the name of the game was "Professional Football"/not "Let's Do Good in the Draft."

The entire reason for drafting well is so that you'll win on the field; not vice versa.

Following the logic of "lose to get a higher draft position" over a long period of time, we should make sure the Cardinals continue to play lousy so we can have a series of really terrific drafts for fans to get excited about each Spring. I'd rather get my excitement in the Fall watching Robert Griffith knock the fillings out of an opponent or Fitz or Q make a ridiculously sick catch for a TD.

With few exceptions, the Cardinals match up favorably with other NFL teams in terms of physical talent. Where we've fallen down has been in things like confidence, poise, concentration & perfection of techniques.

I truly believe that, once this team starts winning consistently (now and then early in next season) things will begin to snowball in the right direction.

For this reason, a win vs. SD would be huge, because it would reinforce the team's confidence in itself.

I am not so convinced. I have a hard time believing that the Bidwills will just throw away 2.5 mil at Green.

I will believe it when I see it.

If they have any understanding of sunk cost, they will let Green go.

If we finish 6-10 after the 1-9 start, I could at least picture Green here next year.

I'm changing my opinion on whether he's gone or that he still has a chance to stay about every two hours or so. What I don't buy is that he's been "gone" since the Green Bay game.

If he is "gone", I sure hope they already have an under-the-table deal worked out already with the new coach. For me, it would ideally be Pete Carroll.

Pete is also my #1 choice. I just don't see it happening. Back to back successful offseasons (Leinart/Edge) would be too much to expect as a Cards fan.

That is what I was thinking. I brought this topic up because I don't have inside sources, so I do not know if Green will be back or not. Wins over Seattle, San Fran and San Diego in the last month could make a strong case for Bidwill to keep him, plus he would not have to buy out his contract. Anything could happen, this is the Cardinals we are talking about.

By the way, I always pull for the Cardinals and beating San Diego and hurting their chances for home-field advantage throughout the playoffs would be nice.

We'd be the talk of the football world until the Rose Bowl at least. It'd really be gratifying to the players to get some positive attention after all the bad things that happened this season.

I'm assuming Cardinal fans want that to happen, but the big question is will Green be fired even if they beat the Chargers?

I don't think that he will be.

Am I convinced they let him go or convinced they know standard economic principles?

No on both counts.

But I'm about 95% sure he is gone...

Also, we beat the Chargers this week and we are the talk of football....how we should have beat the bears and did beat the Chargers. This elevates the team in the Free Agent market and makes it more likely to sign Clements or Briggs, etc.

He should have been gone long ago. If it comes down to money and what it will cost them to get rid of him versus keep him...and the past is any indication...he'll still be here. :|

I'm surprised Green hasn't tried to play the race card or buy the team out from under the ownership yet. Loser.
