From a newbe! I agree. Seniority is always a good thing. Well, maybe when old farts come on and be @ssholes it is not. But for the most part it is a good thing.

I think this is dangerously close to saying I was here first so if you don't agree with me you're wrong. I know that's not what you're saying but I think some may take it that way.
Let's face it aside from Chowder there was a time that nobody on this board drew more "ire" than ME simply because of the whole Jake Plummer issue. I was convinced I was right, he stunk, and was holding the team back. Some agreed, many thought I just hated Jake, some weren't sure. But because I felt this team would never go anywhere with Jake, 95% of my posts were about him and that meant much of the board was about him because people were so polarized on their side of the issue.
Jake is gone and I'm now free to discuss tons of different subjects and now I'm far less controversial.
remember on the old board, and to a lesser extent on this board I had people who were so infuriated with my take on Jake that they would start entire threads every time Jake played well to "call me out." Luckily that was only once or twice a year(-:I had people say I was negative, hell I got that after the '98 season when I said we were blowing it by not signing a better backup QB and relying so much on Jake.
So I don't think when you joined the board is all that relevant to how much "respect" people get when they post. If the majority opinion was the team is going to suck, Kerouac might not have seemed so negative to everyone. Because a lot of us(me included) are actually excited about the coming year, his views might seem a lot more negative than they really are?

Then came Azprosports...which was good...but only for awhile.
Then came this board. I read posts here all summer long before registering. I was kind of seeing how this board would turn out. I am a pretty loyal person to the sites I visit. Once I registered here, I never went back to Azprosports. So...I was shopping

You are absolutely right Russ. I do not equate the value of someone's post based on how long they have been here.
My point was that this side has become what it it, primarily from the efforts of Skkorp, Alan, Mike, and all the others, including long time posters, who made this a desirable place for Cards fans to come and generally get some intellingent information and discussion.
....and LOL, yes I remember some of those days of going toe to toe with you in regard to Jake. I mean, sheesh, now I can't even get into any lively debates with you, Lars, or Gizmo.

Why Tango lumbed you in with the so called "dark-siders" I have no idea. I have to say that the board has had a more negative feel for the last 3 or 4 months.
At first I thought it was because of new posters but IMO it is due to many things. Bad season, unknowns selected in the draft, not getting FA that we needed on D, you get the picture.
I never really got into posting until resently (mainly cuz I am not comfortable trying to type out my thoughts). I have been around since the Rival board and just followed the progression.
I enjoy your posts and your sense of humor so I hope that you are kidding about banning yourself.

first of all, it is nice to have a long-running membership in anything, but i really it's of little consequence on this board. we're supposed to talk football and debate the merits of the cardinals' actions/performances/etc.
second, i too was on the old board, though i didn't post often. the reason? becuase i saw so much unnecessary bickering. the funny thing? the only times that i found myself posting was to champion someone's right to speak their mind. the end of that board (and i really considered the beginning of this board the end of that one) was ugly.
also, i was a member here almost immediately, but something funny happened and my membership never took (for some unknown reason - i was baffled, but not baffled enough to take it up with anyone). it kinda re-upped later on and i was surprised to see my "register" date being so late and my posts so low.
so, for what it's worth, i have more longevity than the nameless one cares to credit me with, and really, i don't care. this is a really silly thread.
