What players did you want in past drafts?

Starting with the '97 NFL draft, what players did you REALLY want in the 1st round.....we are thinking as you would in that years draft, not retrospect

'97: Tony Gonzalez
'98: Andre Wadsworth
'99: (2 first rounders)
1. David Boston
2. Andy Katzenmoyer
'00: Brian Urlacher (I was so PO'd when they picked Jones)
'01: Leonard Davis
'02: John Henderson or Albert Haynesworth
'03: Suggs or Leftwich

Well, didn't get to follow the draft until around 2000, and that was tough, given my schedule and the fact I was in National Guard...

2000-Shaun Alexander, though I must admit, I thought Urlacher would bust

2001-Can't recall, but I think I was all for Big

2002-Anyone but Bryant...I wanted Henderson (think he went earlier?), but I wanted us to STAY AWAY from this pod person...*sigh*...oh well.

2003-LEFTY, LEFTY, LEFTY!!! Damnit, this one's going to kill us for years!

I remember loving Urlacher and most of the people on the board wanted Jones... Was that on the old rivals board?

I did want LJ Shelton with the second first rounder we had.


B4 we traded down I wanted Leftwich... Wasnt to high on Suggs.

This year.... I really want Wilfolk, but drafting him at #3 would be a reach. I'm for trading down. If we, however, stay at #3 I prefer Fitzgerald or Roy Williams.

I am sure you don't want to hear this since it involves the Vikes but..

I trusted DG's picks. I did think Culpepper was mistake. Boy was I wrong. The player I wanted the most ever was Randall McDaniel and we got him! I thought if we got him we would win a SB.

The player I really wanted the Vikes to take was Joe Montana.

After DG left. I hoped the Vikes good luck would continue with good players dropping to us. And sure enough it did McKinnie #2 player in the draft dropped to us and Tice the idiot tried to take Sims instead. Last year I predicted that Suggs would fall to us - Suggs actually had some connection to MIN I forget what - and he dropped to us and then Tice did his usual Tice idiocy. ARGH!

We still don't have RDE three years running.

I agree with all of yours except last year I ONLY wanted Suggs, no one else.
