Woj reporting that Love told the Cavs, Nuggets, and Suns that he would not resign with them if they traded for him.

if true, it's further proof of the damage that Sarver did to the reputation of this team over the last decade. I mean, in spite of great weather and a young exciting team who won 48 games last year, a ton of draft picks and a cap room this team isn't on the radar of ANY superstars, whether they be FA or a guy like Love who's desperate to be traded.

We're gonna have to build this sucker the way the Pacers did the last four years or the Pistons did back in the mid-2000's. gotta hammer down the draft and make good trades when you've got a chance.

Or Love is just an over-privileged dbag who wants the big lights of the big city. All about money, no matter what bull he spins about wanting to win a championship.

not sure that really explains it about Love though, does it? I mean, you could say the above is he was saying he wants to go to NY or LA...which would indicate bright lights big city. But there's literally no chatter about them as all the chatter is he apparently only wants to go to playoff teams like GS/Chicago...which would indicate he wants to go to winning organizations. Our organization hasn't gotten back to that threshold apparently yet...for Love, or any other superstar that's about to hit the market.

Your absolutely right and that's why I think that even if had just squeaked into the playoffs last season even if it meant getting spanked in the 1st round, it would have been huge not just for team success and confidence but it would boost our reputation around the league.

it definitely wouldn't have hurt. I think a lot of players probably view us as the plucky team that could...but ultimately couldn't get into the playoffs and no one knows if that was a one year wonder or not. that's a risky team to take a big chance on for superstars who want to win NOW.

That could be a factor, so could Arizona's reputation, but I think it has more to do with us being a surprise team last year they didn't end up making the playoffs in a ridiculously tough conference. If Bledsoe didn't have the knee problem I think we end up with at least the #6 seed and that would really help with the free agents. The other problem is that Bledsoe and Tucker are RFA and Channing Frye is a UFA, and Goran Dragic can be a UFA next season. I don't think we should expect to have much luck attracting these big name free agents unless we can make room for two of them without decimating the team.

Of course that doesn't mean I want to pay Steve Nash $10 million next year and the even worse help the LA Lakers get the room to sign some big names.

exactly

I don't know what's going to happen by the end of tonight much less the end of July. I think I'm really hoping that we come away tonight with a couple of really good building blocks and some future picks or maybe a European we can stash away. Any major moves will make me totally worried that we are going to derail the forward progress.

Heh, that's exactly what I was going to say. If he doesn't want to be in phoenix, I don't want him in Phoenix. I am a bit disappointed though. In the agen of d-bag superstars, "good guys" superstars make me really happy. Guys like Rose and KD. I was hoping Love would join that list, but apparently he's an entitled d-bag just like Howard, LeBron, Anthony, and the rest of them. Rose and KD remain the two lone good guys.

That is so true! That is why, every time I saw (here goes the :deadhorse2:) Channing Frye (too soft for Power Forward) finishing our games at Center, I knew we were going to be so-close-but-yet-so-far.

The sad part is that if we re-sign Frye as a free agent, next season it could happen again.
