I would say no to any trade for love involving Dragic. That's one of the reason you'd want love to team him up with Dragic and play that two man game.

You know, I was just thinking how awesome Dragic/ Love pick and roll would look like, and believe me, I prefer Dragic to Bledsoe any day of the week, but if Dragic+ garbage was all it would take to get Love, I think the Suns would have to do it.

Now that's funny. I'm a fan of both of them although I lean more to Bledsoe because he's a two way player but I wouldn't package Goran for Love. I just don't see Eric and Kevin being the two man team that gets us the kind of success that keeps Love in Phoenix. Love is worth more than Goran plus trash but Goran is worth more to us than a player just passing through. We have what it takes to succeed if we add Kevin to a mostly intact roster but that changes the moment we lose Dragic IMO.

From Minnesota's perspective, they would probably prefer a sign & traded Bledsoe to Dragic. Dragic is older, and has a player option at the end of this next season. Just as everyone is wary of trading assets for Love without an extension (or the indications of one), I'm sure Minnesota is not excited to get just a one year rental (and other unknown assets) for Love. At that point, if you're only getting one year of production, you might as well stick with Love.

That's not going to happen since Bledsoe would have to want to sign in Minnesota.

Goran is one of my favorite players, but I'd be pretty reluctant to offer him a max deal. Regarding the GS deal, I believe Thompson also has only one year left before he'll likely get a max deal.

Like you, I agree that we would be worse without Goran, but we'd have plenty of assets, and the money to pay another max/near max deal. This is a star league - we could create a pretty good big 3 with Bledsoe/Love/available FA.

I'd prefer to make the trade without including Goran, but if it does indeed include Goran, it's worth the risk. (esp if we have a shot at another top player)

Love has his flaws and isn't particularly athletic, but he's still young and has skills that should age well. When he's on the court, Minnesota is a top 5 offense, off of it, they're the Sixers. That's pretty compelling.

I just don't understand why AZ isn't a great location for Love. Nice place to live during the season, an hour flight from LA, a good young team to build around, a system that's tailor made for his skills...the list goes on.

Im hoping we get Love but I feel like somehow we are going to end up with Chris Bosh this offseason or next. We are onf 3-4 teams that would pusruse him hard if he opted out and truthfully his skills set translates really well with what we do and he brings vet presence and championship pedigree to a young team. Not as sexy as Love but he would be better in PHX then 3rd banana in Miami and it would only cost money to get him. Especially if King James ends up back in CLE likeI think he will.

If you look at it logicially King James in Phoenix makes sense. But its never, ever, ever going to happen for a bunch of different reasons. Only Suns fans would convince themselves otherwise and thats okay because dreaming is free.

More and more I like the idea of Dragic for Love. But does that roster convince him to resign here? I mean we were better then expected last year but still missed the playoffs and Dragic was a HUGE reason why we were as good as we were.

I do love Kevin Loves game and how he fits here and if I have posted 10 times here in the past 2 years, 7 of them were talking about how we should throw the farm to get him well before this was the topic du jour. And I cant flip that now. IMO The longer this plays out the better it is for Phoenix.

Bingo. First of all it's debatable whether Goran Dragic is a Max player (assuming he replicates his production from this season next year) and that's what you would probably have to pay him to stay in Minnesota and even that is far from a guarantee he will stay. I believe Morris is also a restricted free agent season so they probably have to overpay to keep as well.

Well then eff 'em. That's an overpayment for Love as it is.

I would tend to agree in my own opinion, but I doubt many NBA GM's would agree with us. Love is one of a few really good power forwards out there. Goran Dragic is one of many really good combo guards.

earlier season I thought Chris bosh would be the best fit here, but I'm not sure after watching the playoffs. He looked a step slow to me and the idea of paying him $20 million + for the next four or five seasons scares me.

Yikes! 20 mil for Bosh. No one would take him at the price. I don't believe he'd be a good fit for us because he's a weak rebounder at this stage of his career - and he never was much above average. Sure, he'd be a step up from Frye but he's already on the downslope.

Anyone else get the feeling that the LeBron announcement sort of put the brakes on all the Kevin Love trade negotiations? I get the sense GM's are stepping back and assessing things.

That's not going to happen since Bledsoe would have to want to sign in Minnesota.

This is Bledsoe's first pay day, I think he will be fine with signing with Minny or even Detroit as long as he gets paid.

There is no way Bledsoe signs with Minnesota in a sign and trade.

Bledsoe does not want to leave anyway, most likely scenario would be that the Suns tell him they match anything and give him the max contract immediately but agree that they wait before he signs it so they can use all their capspace before.

So Minny would have Bledsoe and Love... so now all they would need is Lebron and the Wolves would be howling. ;)

Edit: I guess this is all based on Love leaving though.

If Minny was the only team offering him money maybe, but there will be other teams willing to pay him. There is no way he'd choose to sign there.

Plan:

Suns pick for LA at 7*---But they're secretly picking for Minnesota! Suns flip whoever is #7, their #14, #18, #27, LA's pick next year & the Morris twins to Minnesota for Love.

*Suns trade their next years 1st for Nash/7, so LA can chase Melo and whoever. Or perhaps send LA's next years 1st back to them.

Suns then sign LeBron as a free agent.

2014-15 lineup:

C Plumlee/Len
PF Love/Frye
SF LeBron/Tucker
SG Dragic/Green
PG Bledsoe/Nash/Archie Goodwin

Nash gets a title and retires a Sun. Al McCoy finally gets to call the Suns winning a title. They give an honorary ring to Jerry Colangelo. World peace breaks out, and worldwide hunger is ended.

Well....dreaming is free anyhow :)

Woj reporting that Love told the Cavs, Nuggets, and Suns that he would not resign with them if they traded for him.

Minny doesn't want what we have and Love does not want to be here. Time to just move on.

Makes sense why we have not heard more about suns in trade discussions.

Has there ever been more discussion about a player who has done less, screw him. (yes sour grapes).

Woj reportedly said this during a segment on Fox Sports 1 but I haven't seen a credible source confirm it yet.

I question why Love would agree to go to the Celtics but not the Suns or Cavs who are in much better position.

If true, he's moving into Suns public enemy territory. We have a 44 page thread on him and this is how he repays us?!
