That's huge! There seems to be some internal strife involved here! Maybe JJ not gone yet! ;)

According to Sarver:

Sarver: "Joe, do you want me to match this contract?"

Joe: "Absolutely NOT."

If true, Sarver gets a pass from me.

EDIT: And, Sarver said JJ told him that being happy was more important than winning a championship, and he'd be happiest in Atlanta.

Sounded like the Suns management was keeping their options open on JJ until Atlanta made up it's mind(s) on the JJ contract. Wonder what they will do if Atlanta backs down?

From the way they were talking, it sounds like JJ will be gone one way or the other.

I have to agree with him. The Suns suddenly have a bench, and some defense. That alone makes them better.

All of you doubters will see next year.

no no, I wasn't doubting, I was merely saying that I was wondering if he was leaving the option open for JJ coming back. However, the comments they made later regarding JJ seem to say there is no chance of that.

Hm, Raja is talking like Joe may or may not be back. So was the management. I think the management screwed up already though by badmouthing JJ, they shouldve acted more professional. Because if the deal w/ ATL falls through and JJ stays here, Im sure he'll be a little upset at Sarver, BC and JC for kind of seeming upset at him.

I think BC would know more about JJ than Raja will

I think they made it clear that they aren't gonna keep JJ because he doesn't want to be here. If the ATL deal falls through, I guess we'll explore S&T deals with other teams. Forgive me if I'm ignorant regarding the process...

We will see how happy JJ is with the 15 to 20 win seasons. :biglaugh:

Im just wondering if maybe JJ was saying all that stuff about wanting to be in ATL because he was trying to drive his price up. I mean, lets say JJ called up the Suns today and said "Im very sorry, I changed my mind, I want to be w/ the Suns," don't you think they'd sign him? I do. Im sure it wont happen, but Im holding out hope

I thought the comments, or rather them NOT wanting to comment at the end on their options regarding JJ and the Atlanta situation, until Atlanta makes up their minds, spoke volumes.

I kinda think they would like Atlanta's deal to fall apart. I thought Sarver sounded frustrated at not getting to deal with JJ. If Atlanta goes bye bye, and the price is right for JJ, I bet he stays a Sun. Just a gut feeling watching all three of their body language and how they kept saying it was JJ wanting to go to Atlanta, not them backing away from him.

Raja's enthusiam is making me miss Joe alot less. I always thought it was stupid that Cuban let him in walk when he was with Dallas.

The one thing I took from Raja, is he's going to score with Nash handling the ball, and he's pretty confident of that. I think he will replace at least Q with the threes. ;)

It sure seems like they were ready to match that contract.

If Atlanta veto's the trade they still might match to avoid losing JJ without compensation.

JC seemed pretty upset that people were saying they had no intention of signing JJ.

I think JJ is getting jerked around by his agent.

The whole "we can't even meet with JJ" reminds me a lot of McDyess.
Like the agent is afraid the player will change his mind if he is sitting face to face with Sarver and BC ( maybe with Nash, Amare, & JC)

They don't have to match if Atlanta falls through. They are back to square one in regards to JJ. They will still retain the ability to match any offer, as well as make their offer to him. Maybe they let him shop around and match anything under $60 million.

Raja already played with Nash one year in Dallas. He was pretty much a non factor there too only averaging 3.1 ppg.
