we are back to the days of no respect. I can’t find one pundit that even wants to talk about us. Nfl network spend several minutes on every game this weekend and our game gets 15 seconds, no exaggeration. It started at the end of 2016. Arians had no interest in a “ retool” and the organization appeased him. It put us two maybe three years behind. We should have moved up and drafted Watson instead of Reddick. If we did nothing else we would have headed into this season with a qb that would have had 8 or 9 games under his belt. Imagine what we could have done with the 25 million it cost us to sign Bradford and Glennon? What could we have done with our #1 pick this year? Instead Keim and Bidwill caved to Arians and went for the gold “ one more time”. I give Keim and Bidwill a lot of credit for the competitiveness of this team and we all enjoyed our run. But they dropped the ball and us fans will now be relegated to an after thought. At least until Rosen is named the starter. Unfortunately when that time comes his supporting cast will leave a lot to be desired. I can’t even say “ wait till next year”. I will still watch and I will still love. I just don’t like irrelevance.

Two seasons out of the playoffs and you become irrelevant. If Rosen was the projected starter than MAYBE we'd start making some headlines. But you have an 8-8 team playing a 7-9 team.

exactly. there's pretty much NOTHING interesting about this game from a national perspective. Two middle of the road QBs, 2 relatively nondescript coaches and two likely middle of the road teams.

I have grown to like the fact the Cardinals are not talked about.

I tell people, the Cardinals have played some of the craziest football games in history. The league is missing out, if you asked me, and missed out on a lot over the last 2 decades.

I think to Anquan Boldin in his prime. I truly think only Cardinals fans realize how good he was with us.

Reminds me of the '81 Niners. Walsh was entering his 3rd season. There were high expectations in '80 after the offense was explosive in '79 - but they still went 2-14 because they had NO defense. Started '80 on a roll, then fell on their faces and finished 6-10. Going into '81, nobody paid any attention to them, especially with 3 rookies starting in the defensive backfield. By mid-season, they were on a roll again, but still getting shunned by the media, often not even having their highlights shown during the MNF halftime highlights segment, and finally the players and fans got pissed - and I think it helped motivate them to their first title.

Years of bad drafting have caught up with the Cardinals. That and their history of irrelevance probably makes them easy to ignore again. Maybe they'll sneak up on a few teams this year? Or it could be a disaster.

No one has ever seen a WR do for his team in his first game and first season what Boldin did for us. Then we draft an even greater WR the very next draft. Had Boldin done it in NY or Dallas they would still be talking about it.

I have taken a perverse pride in how we have always been under the radar UNLESS we earned it on the field.

I dont pay any attention to what the pundits say. The Cards are in charge of their own destiny. If everything goes their way they're in the Super Bowl. But that could be said of the other 31 teams. Just enjoy the ride.
Our Talent doesn’t justify anyone believing this is a SB team, let alone a playoff team. Not a chance

The Cardinals have only barely ever been in the national spotlight. They're a perennial loser of a team, even if recent years (I'm talking the past decade) have been brighter than usual. It's being worked on, and they're getting better, but we've really only had two seasons to be hyped about on the national level, and one was "the worst playoff team in history."

Sorry, that sucks. But it's reality. And I think this is a first class organization that is just on the brink of really being popular. We have some awesome classy stars, have had recent competitive teams, and just maybe we might have a franchise QB on hand. If Rosen's who I think he is, and did before the whole draft process, he's going to be one of the faces of league, in a Peyton/Rodgers sense.

But it's absolutely ridiculous to play revisionist history, OR claim that we "should have moved up for Watson." The Texans gave up a first round pick for Watson, which turned into a top five pick for the Browns. What should we have packaged to the Browns to make them ignore a first round pick? Would you have given up this year's first rounder to move up one spot? The point is, we never really had the chips in the game. The Browns weren't gonna take a 3rd rounder and 5th rounder (thanks Oakland) over a 1.

That's not to mention that the guy is a 22 year old sitting on two torn knees, who has only won three games in his career. Let's have this conversation four years from now when Houston's looking to replace a guy whose body can't keep up with his talent.

I mean, he gave us something to watch in an otherwise wasted season, but he was basically Stephon Marbury. He showed who he really was in the NFC Championship game.

The only sports related TV I watch is NFLN so maybe my upcoming take is not correct but I always see a Cardinal (usually Fitz) when they flash highlights of teams in commercials. That's an improvement from prior decades when the only time the Cards were seen in commercials was when they were giving up the big play.

My way of saying I don't think we are irrelavent it's just they we aren't the Cowboys or Pats.

I know you can’t look back about woulda , coulda, shoulda. My point is Keim wasted a year going with a team that was not in a position to truly compete for a Super Bowl. At least that’s what I felt going into last year. IMHO the “retool” should have started last year. There is nobody here that hopes I wrong more than me.

We had arguably the best runningback in the NFL. And, a QB who could still sling it. Plus a great defense, and an amazing coaching staff.

Don't get me wrong, I didn't think we were winning the Super Bowl, but that team still had plenty of talent if injury didn't crush us. We still won 8 games.
