Sounds like McHnair might be back and they locked up VHolek already so there's no lock they take YHoung or CHutler. Depends, Chow might want a young QB but you'd think they'd be looking at their defense too.

Miami took BHrown in the draft last year so everyone assumes they want a QB now but I don't expect Saban to get to pick high enough to draft a QB this year. Obviously Tampa took CHadillac last year and they have Pittman so they're probably inclined to look for a QB themselves, I just don't buy Gruden is sold on SHimms.

Based on what? It takes a very special kind of player to play in the New York media crucible. There's no way that Josh McCown could do it. He melted under the "big lights" in Arizona any time that there was an important game. Josh McCown is a great quarterback to have once your season is over, but when you're playing for something, he goes into his shell.

There's no way that you should be reducing the playbook for a four-year veteran who's started over a season, but that's exactly what the Cardinals had to do every time McCown became the starter. That doesn't speak well of his mental acuity. That he couldn't stand the heat of being a QB at Southern Methodist and had to drop a level doesn't speak much for his mental toughness. What has he ever shown to make anyone but his more diligent homers think otherwise?

Reducing the playbook??? WTF???
Who said that the playbook, as you call it, was reduced. Was it on the Atkins diet? I can't believe that you can even consider yourself a fan. You aren't even a fan of the team, the way you try to berate any player that eventually leaves the team. You sir - are a player hater.

K9 rips on every player that is a fan favorite.

Huh? I hate bad players. Sorry if I never got on the Marcel Shipp bus, but I know a Gremlin when I see one. Forgive me for wanting the Cards to have good players instead of bad ones, and being embarrassed by fans who cheer for bad players (Ronald McKinnon, Marcel Shipp, Kyle Vanden Bosch) and boo good ones out of town (Simeon Rice, Thomas Jones).

And I really, really take issue with the comment that I hate on players that leave. Ask anyone that's been here, and they'll tell you that I've been jocking Thomas Jones since I came on this board (a defense of him was my first post ever here), was a huge defender of David Boston (something that I was wrong about), still support Bryant Johnson (one more year buddy), and defend Simeon whenever someone on this board cries foul about him being overrated or some other nonsense.

Forgive me also if I'm not falling all over myself for the 16th-rated WR in the NFL because he was the one good thing about the football team three years ago. I've never said the guy was bad, but I've just called people out whenever they've said that he's the best WR in the NFL, or even in the top 5. That's just rank homerism. Forgive me for noting that Anquan's DPAR is below #2 WRs T.J. Houshmanzadeh and Eric Parker, only 0.4 more than Reggie Wayne, and 2.3 more than Joe Jurevicious.

Or that his DVOA is an unbelievable 40(!!!!). His DVOA is lower than standouts like Ernest Wilford and Antonio Bryant.

I don't hate the players; I just love the game.

The "calling other fans out" part of the offseason came early this year.
No it didn't. People call you out all year long.

Maybe a look in the mirror is in order since you seem to rankle people across the board (literally). I understand what you're saying about not jocking bad players, but maybe it's the manner in which you do it.

Don't mean to call you out. Just trying to be helpful. : DrPhil:

Yeah, but calling me out for actively hating the team is a different thing. I'm used to getting hated on for being ahead of the curve on players; being right is a good salve for that. Sometimes the truth is tough to hear. I don't care if it rankles other fans. I'm not here to make friends. I'm hear to talk about the team I love.

The point about Josh isn't his rank! It's YOU having the audacity to imply that he's as dumb as a rock, when you don't know a damn thing about him.
Let me see, do you go to UC Davis?
It used to be a TOP NOTCH school.
But, I guess, if they let someone in(you), that can't see that it's his "personal" attacks on others( such as McCown), that some find offensive and irrational, then they must have dumbed down their entrance qualifications over the last twenty years.
Perhaps your parents bought your way in?
Your rude young man. Always have been. That's the proiblem some have with you.

K9 - you have strong opinions and state them in a way that comes across as cocky and arrogant.

The fact that KVB had an OUTSTANDING year may say something about what some fans saw in him. Simeon Rice was and always will be weak against the run and someone who bashed the organization. Of course he has tremendous pass rush abilities but his attitude and effort when a Cardinal earned him the critisism he receives.

Boldin is an amazing player with an outstanding attitude who has set several records in the league and already earned a Pro Bowl bearth and arguably should have made it this year as well. To say he is not a top 5 WR in this league may have some merit but to state in the manner that you do means you will be labeled as a player hater. At times you use statistics too much to make your point.

By the way, what is DPAR and DVOA?

How about we use some basic stats like # of receptions and yards gained. Then let's watch the three jaw dropping runs that resulted in TD's when he made NFL players look like boys in skirts.

I would think that even you would rate Q as the toughest SOB at the WR position in the NFL.
