Suggs vs. Leftwich

I'm curious to see how the line has moved.

Cards defense cant stop the run and cant pressure the QB. We have too many holes for one player to take us over the top.

Philosophically, I want to see us improve our run defense, first. Per your poll, that makes me an independant, and for the first time in my life...I'm supporting a Kennedy.

To be honest, I want Leftwich, but I want Suggs equally. I'm going to be disappointed either way. Wouldn't it be crazy if somehow the Cards traded a bunch of picks to acquire BOTH?

If the cards can talk one of these teams with multiple first rounders to give them to us for the number six spot, I think we ought to do it and grab a DE, DT and CB with our first three.

If we can't do that and Leftwich and Suggs are both on the board, I'd like them to take Leftwich.

But, Suggs could well be a monster in the NFL, so if we end up with him I don't think it's a completely wrong pick. These are good decisions to have to make. You really can't go completely wrong (famous last words).

It looks like the Cards will have their choice of either, but big time QB's don't grow on trees. This team has not had a quality starter since Neil Lomax. Suggs and Leftwich will both be stars but my vote says take the QB. We cannot trade down if these two guys are still on the board because I have a feeling they may be the top two players 10yrs down the road.

I just cheated and voted in hindsight to make myself feel better about never imagining that we would trade down for Skillet and Calvin Pace. I remember that Calvin Pace was at a grocery store and his agent called him with the shocking news about how high he was just drafted

Imagine taking Suggs then we take Boldin in round 2. Then Fitz the next year and the other good players we got in 2004(Dansby/Dockett). Our defense would have been set for a while.
