I didn't interpret that interview as meaning anything special regarding Faneca. The body language of an earlier D Urban report suggests that the Cards are meeting with Faneca's agent partly as a courtesy and that we shouldn't read too much from it.
Then again, it could all be posturing (i.e. not wanting to appear too eager).
Still, the impression I get is that the Cardinals are mildly interested, but no more than 20% likely to even try to get a deal done.
A lot of people are saying Faneca's performance slipped last year with the Jets. That's what they're saying (and it's disturbing) but, having not actually watched Faneca in action, I'd be inclined to defer to the Cardinal coaching and scouting staffs: If they feel he can help us, I hope we sign him. If they don't, then we won't sign him and the whole issue will fade away anyway.
