Did I miss something, what point spread issue?

Oh this is great. I heard it on KTAR on the way in to work. An annonymous 'fan' called in to the radio station and left a message saying he had sources that know the the Raiders kicker missed the last field goal on purpose. He claimed the game was fixed by people who 'don't play' and warned the radio station to be careful if they investigated his claims. He seemed to indicate the Cards were in on the fraud and that the NFL knows about it/is investigating it.

It was the most pathetic "tin foil hat" theory I have every heard about the NFL.

Here is a link to the segment where they play the voicemail. It is the September 29th link.

All the # says is how far we have slipped without Warner. Read the post. We have Haggens, Porter, DD, Campbell in and the outside guys can't get to the Qb and are nothing more than situational pass rushers who can't stop the run. We need to run the ball and stop the run to Win without a Warner and we are not doing it because of all these stupid moves by the coaching staff. They are just trying to hide there deficencies on offense but to do that you have to stop the run and sack th Qb on D. We aren't doing it. We will not be in the playoffs this year. Did you say Playoffs?? We aren't going to the playoffs. Playoffs?? Really?? WoW.

I never said we are going to the playoffs. But if we do, it won't have anything to do with the almighty power rankings.

Someone has to win this pathetic division. Why not us? Do I think it will happen? Probably not. But I knew this was a rebuilding year going in. I never had expectations that we would reach the same level we were at the last 2 years.

No kidding...power rankings? You're seriously bitching about an arbitrary ranking that has absolutely no meaning? You have to be kidding me. I'll focus on another ranking, our ranking in our division. (Hint...we are in first place)

Even if we don't end up winning the division, anyone without their kool aid glasses on knew this was a possibility. If we get this kind of reaction 3 games in, winning the division, I hate to see how toxic this board gets if the wheels fall off.

Dude, the wheels fell off we are just skidding along due to momentum from the last couple of seasons. The only ones wearing koolaid goggles are the Whiz riders who can't see what a failure he is as head coach. There was no plan after Warner left...he has never fixed the D and the O is putrid now with out a couple of players that were not adequetely replaced. He is no better than Mackage. Had Plummer played like Warner you would all be singing Macks praises...he didn't and we sucked. I have always said in Warner I trusted and it was merited. Whiz isn't even in the conversation. He sucks as bad a Mack did at actual coaching.

And probably a 3 year fan as well. It's absolutely hilarious to see these Johnny- come-latelys who bitch about the team now...anybody with any perspective would see that compared to where this franchise was 5 years ago, even with DA as qb, we're light years ahead of what we used to be.

To all the Leinart fanboys who infest the board and still pine for their knight in shining armor: he's gone. He ain't coming back. PLEASE, for the love of God, move on.

Probably signed up for season tickets 3 years ago, just to be in the SB lottery.

The Whisenhunt haters amaze me to no end. It's almost like they have no comprehension how horrific this franchise used to be since just about forever. Calling the Whisenhunt era a "failure" has to be the most asinine remark, of course coming from the guy who used to sniff Josh McCown's jock at every possible moment I'm not surprised.

i love conspiracy theories. First -- the Raiders were covering the spread regardless of if the kick went through or not.

Also -- if this is about a straight up win / don't win fix -- it would have been alot easier (and far more reliable) to have Gradkowski airmail his 4th down throw and end the game there rather than having the scene of a normally reliable kicker missing a gimmee.

Give me a break, I never said the Warner era was a failure. I said Whiz never came into the equation. Warner made him not the other way around. When Warner came aboard I said I loved his game but McCown offered more for the future. At some point I was wrong and admitted it. You take your cheap shots and stick it where the sun don't shine and refute what was actually said ok slick. This franchise was not turned around by Whiz. Warners offense changed our fate and Whiz has fixed nothing else so here we are.

Um, how exactly is the following quote not calling Whiz a failure?
"The only ones wearing koolaid goggles are the Whiz riders who can't see what a failure he is as head coach"
As if a guy who in his first three years coaching the WORST franchise in American sports history has a winning record and takes them to two division titles and a Super Bowl berth can somehow be considered a failure. Good heavens.

The funniest part about your type is how you conveniently ignore that Warner and the Cardinals completely sucked ass during Kurt and his offense's first two years to the point where we won a combined ten games and KW was benched in favor of scrubs like McClown and Leinart. Kurt was on his way out of the NFL (benched in his last four opportunities - Rams, Giants, Cardinals 2x) until Whiz got a hold of him.

how the heck can anyone type this with a straight face. Wiz never came into the equation? Warner WAS MEDIOCRE-HORRIBLE AND WASHED OUT OF THREE TEAMS... THREE DIFFERENT TEAMS before Wiz figured out best how to use him.

Seriously, the ONLY thing DIFFERENT IN Warner's equation in the second half of his career was WIZ and yet Warner gets all the credit for turning us around... even though he had been here for two years and had done nothing but suck and lose his job to a rookie and Josh Freaking McCown.

I assuming he means Mcginnis!

He also lost his job to wonderboy Josh McCown at one point here too.

But Rats is right, the Warner Era was not a failure because someone stepped in during the 2007 season and rescued it out of the crapper it was residing for the previous five years. I'm sure the timing of it all was merely a coincidence.

Wiz got out of Kurts way where Couglin and Green would not. That simple. Whiz has rode what DG gave him talent wise and has not got us talent to replace it.

No, he said it was the Whiz Era and I said it was not. It was the Warner Era not the other way around. Same handful of idiots ....nothing changes here. I agree this board sucks sometimes. Whiz is a failure because he hasn't fixed any defiecincys just rode Warner and now we are left with this pitiful team and all of Whiz's "chemistry". You know this you just want to be a jackass.

Wiz got out of Kurt's way... good lord. So, you were on the field then, also? You know how many times Kurt was calling audibles? And when he was calling audibles, did Warner hide rocks and twigs in his jock so he could diagram his own plays also out there in the grass? Hell, even if Warner was changing plays at the line, you realize he was still changing those plays to OTHER PLAYS WIZ DEVELOPED RIGHT?

This is insane. Coughlin's a Super Bowl winning coach who's team has made the playoffs 4 of 6 years. Dennis Green had the highest winning percentage for a long time... and none of these...

ok, this is pointless. I'm talking to a complete and utter mental case here.

You're right. Warner single-handedly took the worst team of all time to the playoffs for two straight years after having lost his job the previous two years to pond scum like Matt Leinart and Josh McCown and there was NOTHING that changed in the organization that made that happen besides a light bulb going off in Warner's head.

Even if this were true - an intelligent person would consider such a move in feather in Whiz's hat for getting the most out of his players by what most would consider unconventional methods.

I kinda remember everybody being on leinarts jock, but Whiz was sneaking in Warner and calling it a change of tempo with Warners no huddle. Whiz was paving the way for Warner to get the starting role (IMO) and then Matty got slammed on his own 5 yard line, crushing his collar bone. Matty went away to heal, and WHIZ never looked back. Whiz is a good coach, the best the Cards have ever had.
