A lot of guys are good technicians. If the plan works they are good. If they don't have the background and understanding of concepts they are unable to make adjustments when faced with adversity.

Whiz runs a professional program. I think he needs some help at coaching and talent evaluation at QB and OL.

Whiz has lifetime immunity to me solely based upon the fact that he took a Rod Graves GM'd team to the Super Bowl and back to back playoff appearances.

Reports out of Nashville have indicated that Ken Whisenhunt head coach of the Tennessee Titans has put his stamp on the quarterback position on the team. It seems that coach Whisenhunt has a fondness for merry-go-rounds. He loves them. He is also enamored with the physics of the merry-go-round. He claims that mechanical operation of a merry-go-round can be applied to the QB position in the NFL. He had previously used this strategy in his stint in Arizona while head coach of the Cardinals.

He is quoted as saying that besides all that, they are fun to ride and you always have a chance to grab the brass ring. Who doesn't like a merry-go-round. A merry-go-round is the next best thing to movie day for the team. It has been reported that coach Whisenhunt had one installed in his back yard. Sources inside the Titan camp have stated that Whisenhunt plans to have one brought in during training camp next year. The source also stated that potential players for the quarterback position must have at least some affection for merry-go-rounds. Matt Leinart's dislike of merry-go-rounds was one of the major reasons he was jettisoned from the team in Arizona.

what a chum,

He kept, Da, Hall and Skelton hired Mike Miller after the failed RGC and PGC went south, blamed and fired over 1/2 the players And well the Eric Green raping the transvestite was kept under cover, covers or whatever.

I did see something about him no longer crossing his fingers while coaching, We'll see how that works out for the Titans.

But it was all Leinart's fault, Leinart couldn't throw more than 9 out of 10 with no run game. silly rabbits trix are for kids, or as tony the Tiger once said! HES GREAT

Whiz did nothing without Leinart on the team.

Those visually impaired and now quiet as mice Whisenhunt fans once declared with joy and envisioned greatness at Tenneesee for their boy Whisenhunt. Titan fans are now ready for a new genius head coach, based on the blogs and local media.

I wonder if they still think Whisenhunt actually had anything to do with Warner's resurgence when the former NFL MVP and SB winner and Champ only needed a team and an OC (Todd Haley) who would allow him to play to his strengths and talents.

lol, Haley? Really? Still riding that crap train? We had a better offense after he left, he sucked in KC, the Steelers offense has gone to crap. Haley is terrible.

Whiz helped Warner a ton, Warner helped Whiz a ton. Whiz's isnt a bad coach, but he IS impatient and a terrible evaluator of the QB position. It killed him here, its killing him in Tennessee.

The Tooth Fairy is real too because my grandson says so.

I sure appreciate Whisenhunt's Urban Legend that he where he takes all the credit for making the Warner into a winner after Warner had already previously won the NFL MVP award and had won the Super Bowl while taking the Rams there twice. Warner never lost his skills or his top NFL level talent. No QB can excel in a system that does not cater to or makes the most of his skillset. Sort of when Jordan played college ball under Dean Smith's controlled system, but excelled under Jackson's Triangle System that allowed him to maximize the use of his talents.

You lose your narrative when you somehow claim Haley was the real reason things worked out, despite the Cards actually improving in 2010 after he left and him stinking it up in KC and Pittsburgh. Whiz has his warts, and they are some serious ones, but to act as though Haley had more to do with the two year run than Whiz did is laughable.

At this point, 2 seasons later, the amount of negative energy still pointed in his direction is quite unfortunate. He did some really good things for this franchise, even though the end was less than stellar.

If you still hold a grudge against Whisenhunt, you have issues--get over it.

Whisenhunt needs a QB
he is in a situation that there's not one available could help him
should he have drafted Bridgewater or Johhny Football?
the result would be the same

Sure Haley should get credit, but not for what you have implird. Haley gets credit for runnung interferevpnce for and taking Warner's side in putting together the offense Warner wanted and not what Whisenhunt put together.

IF you can remember, during the Cards offense during Whisenhunt's first training camp and pre-season where he had the QB competition between Warner and Leinart was a 50/50 run/pass standard Steeler type offense that Warner handled and Leinart struggled with. After Leinart melted down in his last pre-season start against the Raiders, Whisenhunt had to declare Warner the starter by default.

After Warner was declared the starter, Warner got Haley to agree to begin changing the offense to suit his talents and particular skills. As the story goes, Whisenhunt did not like that at all, but Haley took Warner's side and got Whisenhunt to agree to try it on in interim basis to see if Warner's offense was better than Whisenhunt's designed offense. There were even several news stories of these big changes along with Haley gushing on how Warner would come in every week with new plays designed to attack this week's opponent' defense. The stories left out any mention of Whisenhunt being in the loop in formulating each week's offensive game plan. These stories are still out there on the Internet and all tell how Haley went to bat for Warner against Whisenhunt's resistence to change the Cards' offense to suit Warner. That is why Haley gets credit for making it possible for Warner to play at the top levels of the NFL again. Check it out, those reports are still out there. Just as Whisenhunt had no success after Warner left, Haley had no success as a head coach for many reasons including he did not have a former NFL MVP to take control of KC offense and attack opponents' defenses.

Joe Montana found greatness in Bill Walsh's West Coast offense, but Montana would never have done well in the Raiders's big pass offense, so that is why is was crucial for Warner to have an offensive system like the one he formulated in St Louis and the one he made here with the help of Todd Haley who ran interference for him with Whisenhunt and Graves.

BTW, I wonder if Warner's arm would have been big enough for BA since BA's offense is built around the big passing play attack.

you don't even REMEMBER what happened. The Leinart meltdown happened in Wiz's 2ND SEASON, when Haley was the OC. The first season, when Wiz was the OC, he brought Warner (who had been thought to be completely washed up by THREE TEAMS at that point) to run the fast break offense during games and then (again, as the OC) unleashed Warner on the rest of the league the second half of the season when Leinart went down and Warner, with WIZ AS OC, put up great stats.

I mean, how is anyone supposed to take ANYTHING you say seriously, when you don't even remember what happened from season to season?

After Warner was declared the starter, Warner got Haley to agree to begin changing the offense to suit his talents and particular skills. if these stories are all over the internet, find them or stop posting this stuff.

After Warner was declared the starter... is laughable. Again, Warner was running the fast break the PREVIOUS season when he was coming in for Leinart, while Wiz was the HC and OC and lit up the league the second half of the year... again, while WIZ WAS THE OC.

and the offense was even better in 2009 without Haley then it was in the one season (2008) that he was the OC. These are facts... indisputable facts. Not a theory with nothing to base it on.
