We need young, offensive genius who understands today’s analytics. It’s ridiculous that we hired a defensive coach and a has been OC.
Well at least he plays to win the game!Herm Edwards
Dave McGinnis had more support from this board after much greater futility. It's wild.
No just in general. Wilks and McCoy, for example, are Chargers retreads.
I think he is young enough to do so. Same reason Saben went when he did. Riley can fail in the NFL and still go back to college at an age where he can get a premium gig.For those saying Lincoln Riley, do you think he would leave a premier college job for an NFL rebuild?

As a coordinator he's great. As a head coach, not so much. He was actually fired when his team had a winning record a season after he won a playoff game. That's hard to do. However, Joe Bugel would be a step up from Wilks.Norv has a much larger history than just 1 year in Carolina. IMO he's a cross between Jim Fassel and Vince Tobin, personality wise.

DeFilippo or Lincoln Riley.
Literally only those 2.
No DCs should be a suggestion.
There's been rumblings that Lincoln Riley may be headed to Cleveland to re-unite with Mayfield.
Go look under the Sean McVay tree.....there's gold in them hills.
I have heard that college HCs hate the schmoozing and recruiting. In the NFL you only need to schmooze the owner.I still question how well the skill set of a college coach translates to the NFL level. I’d bet that 60% of a college HC’s time is dedicated to recruiting and fundraising. You’re hiring a guy who likes to schmooze.
I think that you’re better off trying to poach one or Riley’s assistants as an OC.
Yes I do. How does he follow up on Kyler Murray and Baker Mayfield. Made the playoffs last year and looks good to do it again this year. Drop the mike and run to the NFL. He could always go back. For those saying Lincoln Riley, do you think he would leave a premier college job for an NFL rebuild?

Sadly he will be .wilks will still be here next season.
