Let’s just get through the season alive. No one is going to want to coach here if it gets worse

I'm not sure why his name never comes up, but why not Pete Carmichael, the Saints OC?
This is a very intriguing option. My guess is Sean Payton gets most of the credit for the Saints offense, but he's been their OC for 10yrs.

While Leftwich is unproven as an OC, he seems to be a franchise favorite. If they did can Wilks and go offensive coach I wonder what that would mean for Leftwich. He doesn't seem like a Ray Horton type though.

Wants to coach, is an offense-guy, is available...Mike Martz! Just give him a solid GM and DC and he'd be great.

He’ll never get a HC job outside of Foxboro after backing out of his word last year.

For that reason alone I wouldn't want him as coach for the Cards.

He's 67...maybe as a Tom Moore type offensive consultant.

Let him coach for 3 years and his protege' can take over. Guy wants back in and is motivated. If nothing else, he'd make the Cardinals fun to watch.

After 36 replies no one bothered to even say the words "lets see what Wilks does in 9 games is" is the most damning thing ever about a first year coach. If Cards brass is reading this take note

He has ties to the Valley, too.

As far as I know, he's the coach of one of the new developmental teams of the startup league so he actually does want to coach still.
He coached at ASU in the 80s and 90s, before the Rams...

The San Diego Fleet(barf. I hate sports names like that) is the name of the Alliance of American Football team that will start in 2019.

Didn't know that Martz graduated summa cum laude. "Mad" but smart.

Dave McGinnis had more support from this board after much greater futility. It's wild.

Todd Haley would be a super risky choice, but he's not as bad as some people think.

For starters, he helped Kurt Warner resurrect his career and he was the OC the year we actually made it to the Super Bowl!

We all remember how he called Fitz a "one trick pony" and helped inspire Fitz to take his game to the next level.

Also, of the 11 years that Haley has been either OC or HC, 6 of those 11 years his offensives finished in the top 10.

Now I definitely think he has some red flags (like not being a players coach) and he also also been fired as a HC, but I don't think you rule him out.

I usually like when organizations go with an up-and-comer that they believe in rather than a retread coach...Obviously that has backfired thus far with the addition of Wilks.

No, he was actually a lot better than Wilks and he was our DC during a playoff run. Wilks is a one year DC who hasn't really accomplished anything other than driving this team into the ground.

He left on a bad note and then rubbed salt in our wounds while coaching for the Chiefs. Where were you?
