Gimmick offenses do not work in the NFL. Norm Chow would be a disaster as an NFL head coach, as he's been a disaster as an NFL offensive coordinator. What has Tennessee's offense been ranked the last two seasons?

is Billick running a gimmick offense? He seems to be having just as much success with McNair at QB as Chow did last year.

Tenn never had any real WR talent to speak of. lost their only good one to Baltimore, and had all those RB injuries last year.

I thought Heimerdinger did a better job dealing with it than Chow did but I don't think Chow is really a gimmick coach he's just a guy that likes to throw the ball and he hasn't had a QB yet with the Titans that does that very well.

Heimerdinger fooled a lot of people into think Volek was going to be a starter getting 2 games of over 400 yards out of him(Nearly 500 once). But in general Chow has had Volek, a washed up McNair, and now Young(and a washed up Collins).

But I think it's a moot point Chow wants to be a HC and no way will we make him a HC.

Len P at ESPN.com also noted Jim Schwarz, Titans' longtime defensive coordinator. I liked him as one of my Top 5 candidates for Denny's job last time. We should look at him again. He's new school.

These guys sure made their gimmick offenses work in the NFL. Chow's offense was a failure in Tennessee last season, and continues to be a failure unless they hand the ball to their runningbacks 30+ times a game. Why not hire Mike Leach or Urban Meyer to bring their pass-happy, gimmick offenses to the NFL?

How can a team with a rookie QB who is mediocre at best as a passer, with no legitimate WR's run the ball like the Titans while the Cards with two ace WR's and Kurt Warner(Super Bowl MVP) and Matt Leinart(BCS Championship) at QB and last years top rated passing offense cannot?

Because you can trot out all the stats you want. All the prior history you want. All the "coaching trees" you want and none of them apply when you are talking about the Cardinals.

Get the Bidwill's to make their piece with Boomer Esiason. He'd help Matt enormously BUT more importantly we need an a**kicker as coach. Boomer KNOWS what's going on on the field. He wont take any BS. ("He puts the fear of God in you" NFL player.

Really, because he's a total douche as an announcer and studio guy.

Jeff Fisher WITH Norm Chow if possible. I think that would be best. I'd like to keep Clancy too.

i agree but i know this will never happen...a number of reasons...number one being that any connection to the bears runs through either buddy ryan or dave mcginnis....they are a tight group and i guarantee you either of them would NEVER indorse one of their minion to come here so you can forget

rivera
fisher
singletary

we don't need a newbie and fisher who i believe would be great would have to be made an offer that would be impossible to refuse...NOW do you think we have the mgt that would do that....and fisher is smart enought to know that mike b is lurcking over his shoulder as the GM or the like...keep dreaming tho' we are more apt to get a russ grimm who would coach for free....

I like alot of the names being thrown around but I especially like Ron Rivera and Russ Grimm.

never see rivera here...that is the closest disciple to buddy ryan and i am sure that would be a major influence on his NO...grimm is who i think will be here....is has applied and been rejected everywhere at the head level and he will come very very cheap....somebody mentioned tim spencer....a very wise choice....

guys come here are ready for the death march...it is all over once you hit az....or you are a desperado coordinator who believes HE knows how do to do it...or an art shell type...until the team is sold (hah) don't expect a worldbeater at any level to come here....

Just give me Jeff Fisher and Norm Chow baby. Thats all I want.

If we cant get them pay out the nose for the Eagles D coord Jimmy Johnson that I wanted instead of Green.

Or if the Eagles lose their minds and get rid of Reid I would want him before anyone.

all excellent choice but all "---" dreams!!! the money and the "guaranteed authority" would have to be at the "offer he can't refuse level" and i don't think mgt has the gonads to do anything like tha..JJ is one hecuva coordinator.

Boomer and fear of God in the same thought is hilarious.

just my thoughts on the matter.
fisher....AMEN!!! but will never happen
tice.........yikes!!!
vermiel.........smaller amen but would be very nice...why should he snap his winning streak here???

any turner....no ------- way......unimaginative boring solid 3-12-1/4-12 coaches...the one we have he ron as oc for bears does not have a clue on what half time adjustments are

i predict and said it too often...russ grimm is our guy...he is a cheap, rejected from every head coaching job he applied for in nfl...unfortunately a perfect match.

I think a big concern is that this team chooses from it's old haunting grounds (too many Chicago connections between Graves, Mac, Denny [Northwestern, still NFC Central], etc.). This should be a nationwide search and not be limited to the people that Michael or Bill have met during their travels.
you left one out....tobin....and yes it certainly is not a coincidence either...and you can be sure even though they knew the answer before they asked............da coach....he is (was) totally overrated as a coach and would have been the same disaster here as he was in new orleans

Look for one of the leading candidates for the Cardinals job, if not the leading candidate, to be Lions offensive coordinator Mike Martz. It's a no-brainer on so many levels. ... Martz would like to be a head coach again, the Cardinals are expected to be in the market for one, and the two could wind up being perfect for each other.
