Mullens. Am I the only person in the world that likes his potential? He is not even a poll option.

I like Teague as a second option.

If Mullens turns out to be a dominant NBA player than Mainstreet deserves something special because he has been keyed in on him through the entire process. (this is a compliment not a knock)

I have said before, I think Mullens has HUGE potential. However he also has HUGE bust potential and I would rather take Clark, Johnson, or Williams who are players that even if they don't reach their full potential, they still have very valuable attributes to be key role players.

Thanks, but No Thanks to Mullens.
The guy got completely dominated by Luke Neville in the workout and reportedly was sobbing in the locker room afterwards. I think at best hes gonna be Stromile Swift part deux.

I would love to get Tyreke to Suns, but theres no chance he falls that far. So I'll go with Clark or Johnson. Would be pretty content with Austin Daye also.

what about tyreke evans? he's one of the best defending guards in the draft, and that's what we need most!

I doubt that Brandon Jennings, Gerald Henderson, Tyreke Evans or DeMar DeRozen will be available when we pick. If one of them somehow slip to us we need to jump all over it.

I'd be happy with one of these players: Jennings, Evans, DeRozan, Johnson, Clark, Blair... Not long now, not long at all.

Who I want:
Flynn
Blair
Tyreke- He is not a point guard, but he has the most potential to be a really good player.
Earl Clark

Who I don't want:
Chase Budinger
Tyler Hansbrough

I didnt include Flynn because I think he is going to be 2nd PG taken. From there, Jennings could fall.

If Jennings is there I think we should take him..

Otherwise I am starting to come around on Austin Daye... look he has bigtime bust potential, but he also has the skills to be a VERY good NBA player, perhaps even an All-Star...

And with our team I would rather go for the boom with Daye, then the 6-5 PF that may or may not be able to keep up with the suns, and in all likelyhood will not be anything more than a role player on a playoff team..

Mullens is a bumb. he was a joke in the ncaa tourney and really for the whole college season. I wouldnt touch him with a ten foot poll. If we are lucky enough to have Tyreke slide to 14, i will jump for joy. He is a stud, and can play the PG position as shown at Memphis. However, there is no way he drops that low.

This is one of the more difficult drafts to predict who's going to be available. Assuming we still have Nash next season and keep developing Dragic, I would rather not draft a point guard with the first pick. Assuming Jordan Hill and the other top players are gone, my list currently would be:

  1. James Johnson
  2. DeJuan Blair (though his knees worry me)
  3. Earl Clark
  4. DeMar Derozan (could be a bust, but high potential)
  5. Austin Daye (could be a bust as well)
I would also entertain drafting a guard like Evans, but where would he play? I think Barbs needs to start already and yet we still have JRich.

Players I don't want: Budinger, Hansbrough, Ty Lawson. I am also not sold on Mullens. I would rather not draft him.

i voted jennings b/c i think you need a stud with an unusual skillset at C and pg. nash was the craftiest pg i've seen in some time. jennings is an athletic freak. the rest of the guys are just pgs. that said, i don't think we sniff jennings.

i liked tyreke at memphis, but i'm having a difficult time coming up with a valid comparison for his size/skillset in the nba. is he jamal crawford? is he larry hughes? if either of those, i'm not gaga over him.

earl clark scares me. for some reason i see underacheiver written all over him. i like his size/skillset, but then i wonder . . . how did that dude not dominate in college?

mullens - no

blair - NO!

wish had seen more of james johnson. is he a joey graham?

love johnny flynn for same reason as jennings, but i don't think he'll drop.

Terrence Williams; Earl Clark/James Johnson; and then Austin Daye.

Although if Traded up a few spots, I'd look for Jordan Hill.

I also like Jonny Flynn but not sure he'd be there at #14...

I want Lew Alcindor, Wilt Chamberlain, Bill Russell, Michael Jordan, Magic Johnson, or Larry Bird! (all coming out of college, of course!)

Jordan Hill is not going to be a good pro... as a U of A fan, I actually thing Budinger will be a better pro.

I'm not a big Daye fan.

I wonder if this poll was done last year how many people would of wanted Robin... Suns layed an egg with that one.

Interesting observations. I'm wondering where in the draft Budinger may go.

I think Lopez showed some things in our last few games of the year. He started getting way more physical without getting stupid fouls. I have hope he will develop.

If Earl Clark can bulk up and defend the 4, he could be a very great find

DEPTH:

Nash/Dragic/Barbosa
Richardson/Barbosa/Tucker
Hill/Dudley/Richardson/Clark
Amare/Amudson/Dudley/Clark
Shaq/Amudson/Lopez/Amare

P.S. what is Strom Swift's plan?

I'd have picked Evans but since he won't be there, I hope it's James Johnson. He reminds me a lot of Danny Granger--about the same size, same game, even their college stats are almost identical (Johnson averaged a few points less, but otherwise they're the same)--and I think Granger fell out of the lottery entirely.

hmm, danny granger is a lot more palatable than joey graham. i think he could go either way. . .
