I like to see posts like this. K9 admits he doesn't really know what happened and neither do I so no one can just say it was because Davis was having to scheme around the lack of talent at NT. It could very well have been the linebackers as you say or the fact that teams simply realized all they had to do was run away from wherever Wilson was because the other 3 guys in the secondary couldn't tackle my grandmother.

Great to see some ideas on what went south with the Cards run defense after being solid for over a season and a half stuffing some of the best RBs in the NFL.

Which reminds me that they had a pretty decent Sunday night holding some guy named Peterson to under 40 yds. - Yes , late last season. when healthy.

As I said, I have changed my mind about Cody. Initially I had a negative impression of him. But I think with the right coaching (John Lott) and system, that he is going to be a good player in the NFL.

If there is someone who can mold someone into a greek god it's Lott. However I still can't get past the numbers that Cody had at the Combine.

I'm not talking about the 5.72 forty. Obviously a NT doens't need an amazing forty time.

I'm more concerned about his 20" vertical and his 7.5' broad jump. Those are horrible numbers and suggest a lack of explosion IMO.

Again, I don't see first round material in Cody as I consider him more of a project. If we landed him later in the draft I would have no problem turning him over to Lott and seeing what he could do.
